wolfdogstinkus 1876 Posted August 13, 2022 Yesterday was a sad day for Rocker Chopper.. after doubling the batteries to provide more current and extra runtime, some damage started to become increasingly worrying.. here it is in its final stages of life . Then I strapped another 2 batteries on.. Before finding a better place for more batteries, was worried about putting the weight at the back as it can be a bit wheelie happy.. but then I noticed some damage which was getting significantly worse with each ride. I did wonder why I had lost ground clearance, and also why I had a "speed wobble" on the front wheel at any speed..lol Yeah!!!!, That's going to snap real soon. Was great fun while it lasted and the extra batteries made so much difference.. I started a new one but I don't like it yet, the frame is too big so it's lost it's clown size comedy effect.. and will also be more difficult to transport... Hmmmm, must find kids bike frame, I will continue my hunt for a suitable donor.

wolfdogstinkus 1876 Posted August 18, 2022 And quickly repainted. Now with front suspension Trying to reposition additional batteries now
wolfdogstinkus 1876 Posted August 19, 2022 Final resting place for additional batteries, not ideal but best I could come up with at the moment. Seat moved forward to hide the hole in the seat post . Frame shortened and converted to hard tail. I think it's probably slightly bigger overall than before but still small enough for comedy effect, errrr I mean for the kids to ride it.....of course. wolfdogstinkus 1876 Posted January 16, 2023 Rocker Chopper has spawned another motor on the front. It's now 2 wheel drive. Still have all my fingers and nobody has died yet Some say that before health and safety was invented, kids were allowed to have fun???
wolfdogstinkus 1876 Posted February 4, 2023 Paint it black!!! New footplate/ electronics cover/ battery stay. Ground clearance Handlebars as footpegs, fitted to bottom of bike frame after chopping off the bottom bracket from bike frame. Metal bracket for additional batteries for extra runtime or more speed once I upgrade the controller. (The e100 ESC runs on 36volts but the ESC from the bigger e300 will only run on 24volts.) Rumour has it that "Dexter" started his career on electric scooters??? 2 wheel drive!!!!

wolfdogstinkus 1876 Posted February 24, 2023 Moved the basket to show off the chopper handlebars more. And make space for a headlight maybe. New footplates from the razor e100 scooter deck that I chopped up for the front motor. And a partial chain guard.

wolfdogstinkus 1876 Posted March 18, 2023 I got a pair of 12volt Pb batteries for a mobility scooter 12ah, I think the standard batteries are 9ah. But I was running 24volts(as standard), to the rear wheel via the larger capacity batteries, and 24 volts of the standard capacity batteries to the front motor Not a major improvement over the original speed, but recently it has been really slow and the extra punch seemed to wake it up a bit. Fast enough to be fun, slow enough to be safe
