Busdriver 6209 Posted August 22, 2021 I am missing the building bug. The only Tamiya that comes close to what I might like is a Unimog. I’m really waiting for a more interesting body on the CC02 but nothing seems to be forthcoming. The Merc is a no no so maybe get the Unimog and source a Bronco body. Are there any obvious upgrades from stock apart from steel pinion, bearings and tyres. What are the shocks and springs like?
mike in pa 64 Posted August 22, 2021 Ball bearings are a must. It has oil filled shocks similar to the comical line. I did do the steel driveshaft upgrade. I installed the part to lock the rear diff, but left the front diff unlocked so I did not have issues on the road while turning. It did come with a light kit.
taffer 948 Posted August 23, 2021 Steel pinion and ball bearings, like any other tamiya, is all that's needed...... To be more competent I would say an esc with a good drag brake helps transform performance when climbing, my cc-02 has the crawler 1080 esc which is superb
