I know someone has said this before, but I am not particularly happy with the behaviour of some members.

Recently I have replied to a number of Forsale/trade ads in the trading room, have had positive replys to offers I have made like "that sounds good, can you send me some pics", so I take the trouble to sort out some photos, and send them.

It seems far to often that I then get no reply, no "sorry I've decided to keep it" or "sorry, I don't think your offer was any good."

This can be expected from ebay, but I think it is very rude for members of tamyaclub to be behaving like this.[:(!]

The annoyance here is that I could have sold the car I've been trying to trade on ebay about 4 weeks ago but have been waiting as I have had 2 deals pending which I have eventually given up on - so now the car is for sale in my trades and will go on ebay in a week or so if no TC member wants it.

Sorry if this sounds picky, but it doesn't take much to hit the reply button and type "sorry I'm not selling anymore" (and then click send)

I feel your pain brother. To be honest I don't post anything in the trade section, unless somebody wants it or I need it.

My advice is that anything you trade/sell should have a time limit. If you can't trade/sell it within a week then to the bay it goes.

I understand that sometime people get busy and at times, I've even forgot to reply to people. But it's few and far between.

I agree - its always nice to finish a negociation off with an email of 'yes' or 'no thanks' At lease every one knows where they stand then.

There are a couple of things we all could do though to improve things rather than just not using the section or complaining afterwards (This is not a personal attack at either Balmy or Snollan, as I have no idea of thier transactions, the post just made me write what i had been thinking anyway)

1. Add terms and conditions to your trades, the same as you would on ebay. Set completion dates, payment methods etc etc. Then everyone knows where they stand buyers and sellers. You can even set deadlines after which the item goes on ebay.

2. Tranactions will generally be more drawn out if items are put up with 'make me an offer'. I can see why people do this, but it then just brings in a whole raft of emails trying to negociate a deal. This in turn complicates things if you are dealing with lots on enquiries at the same time. At the end of the day the seller is the one that sets the price. Name it up front and everything will go much smoother and quicker - you will also not receive loads of emails from people that just do not have enough money for the item etc.

Neither of these are rules, just observations.[;)]

You've just echoed my thoughts as well Chris. While we're at it, it's up to the seller/trader to establish these terms at the start of the trade/post.

I'm glad that some of out there see things the same way [:o)]
