I’m not sure about the wheel base, but I can confirm the Blackfoot body does fit nicely on the Brat chassis and it is a popular conversion.

But since the Blackfoot comes on an ORV chassis I don’t suppose that’s a massive surprise 😂

I had one a few years ago and ran it a lot, it was good fun 👍

I think they worked out that it would fit .The Brat body was on the Mudblaster ( which is basically the Blackfoot chassis ) . A bit of pre-planning I think ;)

Good cos that’s my plan. A Blackfoot body on the Brat chassis to make a fake Ranger XLT. I thought it would fit but didn’t know if the different front suspension would alter the wheelbase

Body posts need to be adjusted somehow. (This body just sits on Brat chassis)

1) The front body post (the dome part that pokes through) is thicker than Blackfoot's body hole. (5mm post, 4mm hole.) The bore needs to be widened just a tad. That's the easiest part.

2) That post is also a bit short.  The front tires might grind against the fenders unless you raise the post about 8mm or so. (Brat's wheel wells are round and wider, so it doesn't have that problem.)

3) The rear is a bigger problem. You couldn't use Brat's posts (the step on the side wouldn't clear the chassis). So you'd have to use Blackfoot's post.  But they are very tall because of taller tires.  You'd have to find a way to make them shorter (or you can keep the bed very tall).  (I'm wondering if anybody makes 3D posts to fit Blackfoot body on a Brat chassis...)

For what it's worth, I am guessing that ORV is a better runner than SRB. Wouldn't it be cool if Tamiya released ORV F150 that includes 2 sheets of stickers? (one for Blackfoot, one for Ford Ranger)

Looking forward to seeing your project!

I had to raise my front using one of the hex tranny inserts you get with ORV.

Im using the Ampro rear mount as well.

I find my body sits about 1/4” too far forward.  I need to adjust but I’ve been lazy…

Thanks for all the input. I think I will do a build for this one. I’ve looked at the Ampro bits so will order when I get the kit and the Ford body. Might even get the Ford lettering from Ampro as well along with a set of stickers from Nat in Canada. Not sure about colour yet but am leaning towards some kind of metallic bronze. May do the hard Brat body in the same colour and the Lexan one in Subaru rally colour and as I have a set of Brat wheels I may paint them gold for the full effect!
