I have a Dyna Blaster and a AE RC10 T2. Both handle very well and are a pleasure to drive.

Parts are a real problem. From both, you get only very few and mostly not needed parts. 3d print is the way to go. When running the Dyna Blaster I replace the parts at risk before the run already.

Both mentioned trucks are pretty tough, but have some weak spots, where the aged plastic won’t stand the beating anymore.

Associated RC10 T2/3/4 are all pretty cool IMO and have the motor hanging out the rear rather than one of the modern high grip ST's (though the new Schumacher Storm ST looks lovely!)

For me it would be a Stadium Thunder or King Cab, both great fun.

The Stadium spares are easy to get still, the King Cab has the ground clearance and the ‘cool’ factor 😊

If by "old school" you mean rear motor 2wd, then your options are limited to the Tamiya Blitzer series or the Traxxas Rustler if you still want readily available spares. The Rustler (along with the Bandit and Stampede) shares some design DNA with old Traxxas race vehicles from BITD and thus would be the more capable performer. They're durable and have a ton of spares and aftermarket parts available. For a Tamiya, the Blitzers are fairly durable too, though they have no race credentials in their make up. They are basically Bear Hawk buggies with larger tires, oil shocks and a slightly re-geared transmission.

RC10T! Tougher and parts still available for cheap. Besides that, Rustler. Anything else is going to have limited-to -no parts availability and at a high price. Those are the facts 💯

Tamiya stadium thunder, stadium blitzer or if you are not worried about a truck body blitzer beetle.  They are a badword of a lot of fun as bashers……..just don’t run them on the road as the rear tires wear out far to fast…….

I know the Stampede is more of a MT than a stadium truck , but big Wheels and high CG or not, it’s still 2wdthe same drivetrain as the Rustler / Bandit . I have a Vintage Traxxas Stampede that has quite a few modern stampede ( Traxxas and aftermarket) parts on it. It handles the power of a cheapo GoolRC brushless setup with ease, yet handles well enough my very novice driver wife is comfortable with it on full 2S brushless power
For “what it is” it is one of my best handling “all Arounder “ RCs in my collection.

I’m intrigued by the Futaba FXT…

The hopped-up Tamiya Blitzer that was a Futaba...With is black aluminum tub (so RC10T-esque!), ball diff and fiberglass shock towers mixed with Blitzer components, I'd love to know the story of its development. Tamiya and Futaba were no strangers from the FX10 days, but the FX10 is a more direct translation from the Striker than the FXT was from the Blitzer.

Yeah I’d like to have been a fly on the wall during those discussions…
