I purchased a wheel widener kit from Team CPE (Crawford) earlier in the year. I wish I had not gone cheap. I love Crawford parts, but these 3D printed things are terrible. They are loose on the hex and having to loctite the bolts was a pain. They are just wobbly as heck so I finally just took them off.

Anyone have any experience with other brands of wideners for the Clod?

I've heard others complain about those wideners, I wouldn't have any faith in a 3d printed part like that that is a structural part of the truck. I am sure there are companies still making alloy wideners. I have some old ESP 1" ones that would break the wheel center out.

This look to me like 3D printed versions of the Thundertech Racing wideners.  I had a set years ago and the held up well.  Mind you, I think they were delrin.  They were recently selling some stuff on eBay.  May be worth reaching out and seeing if they still make those.  Otherwise, the JConcepts wheels have different levels of width built in.

I’ll check out JConcepts and also shoot a message to Thundertech and see if theirs are made of delrin. Thanks!

I hate to complain about CPE because they make some great parts but this one is just really bad.

I used TXT axles to widen the stance of my Juggernaut 2, along with some chinese TXT wheel hubs which I drilled to fit Clod wheels in between the holes for the TXT wheels (I had to drill them out as well initially as the manufacturer had got the radius of the holes wrong by .25mm and the adapters would not fit onto the wheels). (Top half of the picture below)

The bits on the lower half of the picture are some home made axles for a fixed axle setup, as I don't have the capability to replicate tamiya splines onto a steel shaft.

Usually CPE has decent mod parts the 3D printed parts has zero stability in them they are merely cosmetic pieces... I would check out JConcepts for a set for your clod... I have finally got my clod finished just two small details left to finish now

Recently got a set of these for my CEN HL150 monster truck and they work a treat. Can even easily handle the 4.5T brushless power and haven't came loose. They come in 15,30 and 25mm widths. I think you get the same kind on eBay and they go upto 35mm.
