Hi all. While I am not a moderator here, I just play one on TV, I would like to remind everyone to please try to keep your traderoom up-to-date. Three times this week I have enquired about parts for sale and have been told they are no longer available only to see them *still* in the member's traderoom.

So please save all of us, yourself included, some time and tidy up your room please.

Thanks for reading.

Deleting items from your showroom doesn't just make it easier for people browsing through them it also save our precious disk space.

Infact,

This is something I have been meaning to do for awhile and this has just reminded me. There is now a limit to 15 items at any one time in the trade room. If you have more at the moment you will not be effected but you will need to delete some before the system will allow you to add any more.

The main reason for this apart from trying to get people to keep them up todate, was to prevent RC shops registering as members and then basically using thier trade area as a free online shop front for thier goods. Shops and dealers are still welcome to be part of the club but this limit will just ensure that our system is not all used up by a few big dealers listing every single thing they have.

If your feel 15 items is too small a number you can of course list multiple items in each of your trade room listing. The search facility looks in the description and title of each item.

Hi Chris,

Do you mean limit in trades section?

Chris it is a bit of a pitty,

I am personnally having lots of parts for several cars and would prefer to have them all listed. There is no point in selling those through the bay as they are not "valuable enough", yet someone may have some use for them one day and having these in the trading room is a definitive plus.

What you could do maybe is expire the trades after 2 months which would oblige the seller to updates its listings from time to time.

I also totally agree on the availability issue, I've had quite a few persons saying the parts were not available anymore and they are still listed here. I do also have to ask fellow members to forgive me for my replica listing : production delays are getting longer and longer ...

Hi Raemin,

I know it would be great if I could offer unlimited numbers of every type of thing on the site but I just can't. Resources are limited.

If you have lots to offer there is nothing to stop you listing 100 different things in one item in your showroom - like I said these would all be found by someone using the search option.

The main reason for this limit was not really to make people keep thier traderooms up to date (although this might be a welcome side effect) Its really there to stop 'professional' traders using the area as a free shop front.

What about a small fee then ?

My main point here is just to have a pic of every item I sell, this was possible in the past because html code was allowed and I ould use external links, today the only solution is to use separate entries for each item.

All in all I know I could group these listings by car (which will make sense), and type a link to the appropriate pics.
