Nikko85 3453 Posted September 29, 2021 I've got a MF-01x running NiMH with Hobbywing 1060 (or TBLE-04s) and a 540 Torque Tuned. The speed I've got is perfect, it really works nicely. Due to the design of the car, I'd love to use AA batteries, with 6 x AA pack, making 7.2 volts still, but AA size. When I tried the AA pack with the current set up it was very slow, I guess the power of the motor pushed the batteries far harder than they could manage, with internal resistance of the batteries really limiting performance. I could get a high turn 540, but where is the fun in that? In my 1/14 monster trucks I use AA batteries with the Hobbywing EZrun 2030 and 18T ESC it all works perfectly (and much faster than it has any right to be) so I was thinking a small brushless motor might be the answer. I can't use another 2030 with this as a) the pinion size is wrong b) I'd to purchase the ESC and motor and I'd rather use the TBLE-04s I have and c) it would need an adaptor plate. So, I'm looking for a small, less powerful brushless motor than: might work with the Tamiya Pinion can mount to a 540 sized mount, but perhaps is smaller (people have mentioned finned 370 motors) Would work with the TBLE-04s Could give a similar speed to my current set up Budget of around £25 If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.
