wtcc‘s TA-03 projects

Recommended Posts

This reminds me of my David Jun build.... what a great building experience.

And also reminds me that I still have to finish the body on my second TA03F Pro :)

The main steps are done. Time for the tires and hexes:

Servo saver:

Little important tuning:

I painted the bars again and had one carbon mount left. The second carbon brace is for the steering. A bit hard to see on the car:

With top deck installed... Mjam!

Very nice. Good to see someone not allergic to JIS / Cross-headed screws too, my collection has been rid of them since the day I discovered hex head screws were a thing

I really need to check in on my TA03s, make sure they haven't rotted away in the loft...

Whole chassis overview:

Next on the list: The beautiful Audi body. Tamiya did a great job here adapting the proportions for their chassis. Cutting, sanding, drilling done:

Masking and painting done:

In between the sticker job:

Vroooom!

The rims and rubber need some stickers, too:

Then I added some sponsor decals Tamiya lost the rights to (Castrol) and put others in places the real car had decals. I also added panel lines for full effect:

Looks fantastic. If you ever see a super tourer in person they are practically on-the-floor low with the big wheels tucked right up under the arches.

Very nice👍🏻

The yellow tyre decals(stickers!) look great.

The choice of the BTCC also gets my approval

Fantastic. Always inspires me and shows exactly what i loved in the guide books as a teen. Proper stance like has been said. ... I have an a4 shell too, seeing this im sad i didnt make it box Art like you , but maybe ill Show it one day too. Have to change some stickers and sticker up some wheels ;)

When im through with all my builds waiting in line ill have a look if i have a spare alu cooling Element i can offer you...

Btw that micron tape looks a lot different than the 0.4 Version (not in a bad way, Just saying.) Is it glossy or matte ? Flat or rough? I always find the 0.4 a little rough....

Oh and +1 on the choice for btcc !

@GermanTA03Guy: Thanks ^_^

That would be awesome! Somehow the heat sink part seems to avoid meeting me

The tape has a rough clothtape-like feel and is matte. I thought the 0.4 version is the same material
