I'm looking for a dark navy blue but can only see PS-59 which is a metallic. I'm after a flat dark blue for a shell I'm doing.

Ive seen a TS which fits the bill. Bearing in mind I'm planning on painting the outside. Will it flake off and cause me misery?

If it's going to sit on a shelf and not move you might be ok. But any kind of running it will eventually start to micro crack and then split and flake with the vibrations alone.

Not look at other makes of polycarbonate paint?

Simple answer, no, it will not work.

Long answer?

Try something else? If you are UK based (other options exists elsewhere in the world too I believe):

https://www.timetunnelmodels.com/live/catalog/absima-paintz-3500004-polycarbonate-lexan-spray-blue-150ml-sales-only-p-61668.html

And then back it with black to darken it more if it is not dark enough?

Or if you can airbrush, use Vallejo or Mig and mix to your desired color. I believe they can even be hairy sticked (hand brushed) on the inside of a PC shell and will be fine.

If you want to go the airbrush route, ask. I have some more pointers.

PS-55 Flat Clear is what you need. Spray it inside to key/prime the surface, allow it to fully cure (overnight), then your TS paint over it--just enough for color, so not too thick. PS-55 on the outside for matte finish. Alternatively, you could do PS-63 Bright Gun Metal on the inside then outside: PS-55 + TS Color + TS-80 Flat Clear. Then if any scrapes off, it looks like sheet metal underneath.

I painted mine on the outside.   No issue.

I used PS white as primer and my usual TS olive drab on top.  TS bends quite a bit without cracking.. try it on a scrap piece of polycarbonate and you should see what I mean.

GL and looking forward to your pictures..!!!

I think it's a 160 euro minimum order with Tamico and it's about £20 shipping...now.😬

You are forgetting the import "fines" as well. Best go and email Neil at TTM to see if he can get you that paint. I did a quick look and didn't seem to see that blue (but I may not be looking too hard).
