I have been in the RC hobby for over 25 years (at this point) as a racer and manufacturer. Prior to my involvement in radio control cars I built and raced full size cars. I started racing in 1965 with a quarter midget, then go-karts, autocross, SCCA GT1 and Trans AM, and finially Vintage Historic. In the mid 1980's I got out of full scale racing to spend more time with my family. My 5 year old son and I started an interest in RC cars at the time and the rest is history. I started a company called Grand Motorsports in 1993 and started designing a line of RC drag cars, RC dirt oval cars, RC electric motors, RC drag and oval bodies, and accessories. I just started collecting Tamiya vehicles in 2006. My first was a Tyrrell P34 re-issued version, and then an original. I have acquired quite a few Tamiya cars in the past few years and love the quality and realistic scale bodies. I am also impressed with the passion I see here at this club with the member participation. I am intersted in learning more about collecting Tamiya cars and adding to an already TOO LARGE collection of RC cars!
