Hi guys, I’ve been involved in the hobby for almost 28 years. It all started out when I was 10 years old and living in Kenya and my dad brought home a 2nd hand 1987 Kyosho Ultima WC acquired from a fellow British Expat. It was the most awesome thing we owned at the time or at least thats what I thought and then he went and had a street race with a 1:1 Mitsubishi Starion and lost…would have made a good youtube RC fail video. Ultimas front end got crushed by the Starion’s tyre. The support just wasn’t there in terms of spares parts and he quickly lost interest. He let me have It and I tried my best to straighten out the duraluminium chassis with a hammer, araldite the frp top decks, front gearbox mount and frp shock stays, got it to run again and went on to beat every other kid at any and every race track I could find, mostly held in peoples back yards and gardens. Then the electronics gave up, Nitro arrived but I was in the middle of teenage stuff and trying to get good grades to get into Brunel Uni here with a view to work in motorsport. Never quite worked out that way but I have put together a bit of collection over the years of mostly tamiya on road cars and 1990s rally and DTM Bodies, wheels tyres. I also like to sell and trade surplus parts from various my projects on Ebay and Facebook.
