Back to movies

Here is a little movie that I put together, documenting the build of my new-built Hotshot 1. I started collecting NIB parts for this build in 2006. It has taken me over a year to finally assemble all the pieces into what you see here. Hope you enjoy! ...comments always welcome. Cheers

Sorry, this is a Flash movie. - You don't have flash installed.

AWESOME!!
Nice work! You did a great job putting that car back together! It looks incredible!
Tamiya is re-releasing the car real soon (of course you get plenty of respect points for resurrecting an original) and I can't wait to get one. I have never seen one go; how are they? Do they run well stock? They seem like avid performers.
I have a Pumkin, Clod, and a Frog right now. And like you, I am trying to piece back together some great past days of burning up battery packs, and some dirt.
I want to get a TXT-1, a Hot Shot, and I am praying that they re-release the Blackfoot (and others).
Great video, great song, and well done. Let me know how you like the car, thanks.

First of all, I would like to say many, many thanks for everyone's extremely kind words!!! I wanted this short vid to capture the essence of these cars, and just like Monty said...'why we all do what we do'. These cars were a great part of our lives when we were younger...(now-'30-something-year-olds) all around the world! Many thanks to TC for bringing us all together, to a place where we can share our childhood memories and relive those great memories through a common bond. These cars meant a lot to us back then and somehow, they seem to mean even more to us now. The song seemed fitting for this vid, and I'm sure Crash-Cramer would agree - sitting in his new-built Hotshot, as he thought back to those days 20-some years ago!

Biscuit and Rizzo Rat, this car is a shelfer. It was assembled dry with no plans to run it. As Rizzo said - this one did cost a pretty penny to build. I don't want to chance any scratches on the underside of the car. I have set aside a nice shelf for it in my display case. Thanks again for the kind words!

Great stuff! Nice job putting together that nostalgic look back combined with the build up of the car of your dreams!

Excellent video Naxman, enjoyed that. What was the total cost by building part-by-part? (Dont mean to be nosy!)- great movie anyway.

necronomicon - Thank you for the kind words. The final cost of building this original Hotshot the way that I did, was slightly less expensive than the over-inflated Ebay prices of the original complete kits. However - by building it this way, it allowed me to put a little bit of money into at a time, instead of dumping a whole lot of cash all at once. Maybe not the best way to do it - but sometimes, you have to do - what you have to do! ~cheers
