Thanks for your memories guys, if you look at the last image you will notice both the upper rear shock mounts are badly smashed up!! My biggest problem arose after putting in a standard 540.....the wires on the manual speed controller kept melting off!! Being a kid I couldn't work out why this kept happenning (I blame my dad!). I remember taking my grasshopper to a model show and entering an 'open race'.....I managed half a lap before the bloody wires fell off!....the shame of it.

If I counter sink the chassis the car won't be BRCA race legal and you never know when that may be an issue, I have washers under the front screws as you suggest super gripper.

5 years of bootsales to find ANY Tamiya......is good going...BUT to find a NIB is excellent......one mans rubbish is another mans treasure etc etc.....can't wait for the day I find a? erm ???????? erm...a rusted 540 at a boot fair! So think yourself lucky ;)

It's early days guys, I have made bodies for my own use and haven't got to he stage of making them for others.....however, I do realise the potential and would like as much feedback from members about the shells they would like, so let me know. Also, I have been making window masks for the shells I have made usiing a laser cutter...so there are possibilities there too.

Good to see a LTD edition 'Goldie' built......your a better man than me....I've had mine NIB for over 3 months.....and it's still not built! But in my defense it's my one and only NIB.
Must say yours looks good with no decals....good choice.

excellent paint job, weathering. Did you use an air brush? I have a Heng Long tiger that I am just about to start painting......not quite a Tamiya but worthy of a good paint job. I regard my Tank project as the steeping stone from RC driver to modeler....if that makes sense? Yours is very inspiring. Can I ask if you used a wash?
