Kamtec only sells the ABS version of the shell, but you can get the lexan one if you ask. I think it cost about £7.50. It seems to be a straight copy of the Tamiya 1/12 Grp. 2 Golf from the 80s.

Glad you like it, I couldn't help myself when I saw it on eBay. I think adding a front bumper and maybe changing the wheels to Hummer ones with BF Goodrich tyres would finish it off nicely. That, and a faster motor :-)

In Denmark at least it's marketed as the Jeep Cherokee (http://www.jeep.dk/vehicles/cherokee/), and 'the real deal' is called the Grand Cherokee. Go figure.

I admire your courage, I chickened out and bought a regular beige chassis for mine and stored the chrome one. As you say, terrain is rough. Any colour on the body yet or did I beat you to it?

Finding a nice colour for the lexan body is difficult, the dark blue Tamiya used at the hobby show didn't do it any favours. I'm thinking orange or lime for mine.

Golf 5 on m-03 chassis

I think I'll have a look at my M-chassis wheel stash to see if any of them make a significant difference. I was thinking of doing a replica of the American APR Tuning white and black Golf with black BBS style wheels with red rims. If I can't find any narrow or negative offset wheels maybe a replica of VWs Golf W12 concept which has huge arches
