COOL ! I always wanted the 1/12th one of these by Tamiya - I take it you are making your own bodies ? If so let me know where I can get one please !

My cousin used to be Ricards team mate at the Volvo BTCC setup - Kelvin Burt. I also used to have the Tamiya 850, also had the V40/S40 shell too. Bought it second hand on a full carbon TA03 conversion.I really regret selling that car ! Kelvin moved on to GT racing in Japan with Toyota after the BTCC - then came back to the UK and won the British GTO champ with a Porsche.

This is superb ! You must tell us where you got the wheels from and how you modified them - they would look awesome on my Scorcher - much more scale and period looking than the Tamiya items !

You're right, it was Olton Park - I was there, stood at the bottom of the hill, so I saw it in all its glory - That was a major impact - even made it onto one of those Crash and Burn videos ! Didn't just put him out for a few races - it left him in a coma for three weeks - Took him ages to build his confidence back up in again. Still, since then he has not done too bad , as I said, British GTO champion a couple of years ago with Dario Franchitti's brother ( I think ! ), did some GT for Toyota in the far east and was also one of the develpoment test drivers for the Toyota F1 team during the year before they entered the F1 proper. He has also competed at the LeMans 24hr three years ago in a Ferrari 355 - his team mate stuck it into the wall during the last hour of the race. I beleive he had also been competing in the European GT champs in the same Ferrari - or so I am told. He's been keeping busy, but, I no longer have much contact with that section of the family so I only find out whats on the tv these days.

These 'Flatnose' Porsches are so gorgeous ! I wish I could find a 1/10th bodyshell to fit a touring chassis ! Nice find ! :D

Nice job ! ;) I have the Chevron version which comes with the livery you have recreated. Great motor ! I too am now considering a second shell so that I can go out and destroy the first ! I also have a Chevron Lancia 037 which is also too nice to use - another shell to be 'doubled up' on ! :D
Hoping to have a Metro 6R4 shell out early next year, along with mk1 and 2 Ford Escorts ! Have a look in my showroom !

Are those rims from the new highlift hilux or the stadium racer of the 1990's? I only ask cos I want a set for another project ! This 'Grale looks so cool- I used to own a series 1 8v during the mid 1990's - great fun, but, rediculously unreliable ! Kept blowing the head gasket ! Would definately have another though, most fun I ever had on 4 wheels !

Blade cx2 coaxial electric heli - a must have!
Tamiya Wales

Cool ! I have a Twister Bell 47G which is mechanically the same - even the E-Flite rotor blades fit the Twister and they are cheaper too ! I love it to bits - flies a little better out doors than the CX due to the design of the tail section. I had no training kit - jut a set of floats - which actually float ! Yes- I have landed and taken off from water and I have only been flying it for three weeks ! Landing on water is a bit moody - gotta get the throttle just right ! :D

Golf 5 on m-03 chassis

Looks like a good project - will look nice when its done ! I would go with the narrower chassis with some 0mm offset wheels if you can get them - those wheels on the MO1/2 chassis look like they have a fair bit of dish to them.

This is where it all began.........
Royal Male

I had a Grasshopper one waaaaaay back in the early 1990's as my first car too - I also loved it to bits - literally ! But, one thing I have noticed since joining this forum is the number of people who have had problems with the rear upper shock mounts breaking - never happened on mine and it took loads of abuse ! One thing that did happen though - I was daft enough to try a 10t quad motor in mine and give it full throttle from standstill - that is exactly what happend - the car stood still and the motor and gearbox shot off backwards at supersonic speed ! destroyed the rear shocks and the lower gearbox mountings, repaired it, and put a sensible motor in it and carried on using it for another couple of years !

***** sold *****
Tamiya King

I used to have a Speed V 800, which had the same outboard motor - Get rid of the car/buggy motor and fit a Graupner Speed 600 - much better suited to a boat than a car motor. Also - I found that 7.2v pack was not enough - I used to run a 9.6v pack - I also changed the prop for something a little biger - can't remember what size now, but it was about 5mm bigger overall. Also - I sent the lower part of the outboard off to Aztec Models - he fitted a much better flex drive for me after I melted three original Kyosho ones !
