Can't wait to see you build a 934. Possibly in Jager colors?

You are right Kokuzu! But one can always dream. Thanks for the response, Tim D......

You are right. But in this case, Insane is a good thing. What makes these so special is that not many Muscle Cars were well modeled in this scale. You have to admit that it would make an incredible Vintage RC project.

Thanks scoobybooster! I've seen some of your work and think you could do a great build on one of these (not this one though!). Tim D.....

That would take some serious scratch building. New nose and tail, not to mention handpainted graphics. Find a donor kit and go for it!

Thanks Road Burner! I have a soft spot for Pontiacs. I'm from Pontiac, and my Mom used to build GTO's at Plant 8. Maybe I'll build this one and bring it to the next Dream Cruise?

Thanks Trevan. Yes, the man is gone but not forgotten. The Long Live Colin Chapman comment was purely a tribute. As a kid, a guy had one of these parked in my neighborhood. Never saw it run. Several years later the car was gone, but the oil spot is still there to this day!

I'm not sure Trevan. I think it all came down to Chapman's basic philosophy on building competition cars. He built cars to the absolute minimum to get the job done (and win). His perfect race car would have been one that won the race, and right as it crossed the finish line would break. No more, no less. If you look at his early street cars you see the same philosophy.

What a find! I'm on the hunt for one myself. I'll bet there is one out there in a dusty attic. Nice looking box too.

Thanks once again Olli! This car is on the front burner for a full on retro RC build. The body has the coolest stance and no clearance problems inside for an aluminun 1st generation chassis. Definately one of those 'what if' projects. I'll keep you posted on that one.

Thanks for the interest generationx! I love all the 1/12th stuff too. Especially these early motorized kits. This one has over 400 parts! Watch out for re-re's with Blue lettered boxes (originals are Purple). Tamiya did a major redesign of the body and electrics and deleted the lights.

A new built and 1st r/c for the grandson

Thanks for the tips adam1973! I built the kit with full bearings, and was wondering about the mount. Do they deform easily? If so, I can get one for about 15 bucks.

News Flash on the maiden voyage with the 5 year old! The little bugger was not going to be outdone by my accidental roll in the grass, that ended with the Hummer in about 8 inches of water. It landed on it's wheels and I stayed in the throttle, so it made it out. Turns out that Knucklehead is a budding U-Boat Commander and drove back into the same mudhole. All the way to periscope depth. And stopped! At present I'm still trying to dry out the electrics. Knucklehead has not stopped laughing........

This is a nib with broken blisters - off to build it then...

Paul, Was the blister containing the motor broken? I recently purchased a Porsche 956 and the motor broke out of the blister in shipping. It is a heavy motor, but other than the broken blister, the kit is NIB. have you had this sort of thing happen often? Thanks, Tim D...

Great Story! Other than shelf crud and flat spots, it looks very good. It's a keeper!

If you want a NIB, I'm afraid you will have to bite the bullet and unload a ton of dough. The closest thing you will ever see to a re-issue will be some kind of a Clod/Hilux. Tamiya still has the molds for the plastic parts, but re-tooling the metal bits is not in the budget.

Seeing double?
442xcar

Think it has something to do with turning out the lights? Or maybe Aliens are sneeking in when I'm not looking? Or possibly because I left the kit on top of a sack of Miracle Grow? Or Maybe.........
