Thanks! Yeah, had alot of fun with this allready ( though my son drove it into the Garage door, and broke the servo saver thingy.
I have a Super Blackfoot Gearbox that I'm going to add to it.
Blackfoot 1 - runner
Yeah, the guy I brought this from put the extra screws on there. Its a taken a beating.
Yeah, I hadn't notice that about the grill. Was only a couple of weeks ago I discovered the subtle (and not so subtle) differences between Blackfoot, Super and King.
My first traxxas. and likely first of many slash's
Thanks for the comments. Its really a joy to drive, and takes a beating..Wish it was 4WD...The suspension is so soft. Its seems almost too soft until you run it and see how it handles, compared to some of my old Tamiya's and their hard/old shocks.....Trouble is I've seen all these movies on YouTube with Brushless setups and Lipo's now I have a need for speed all of a sudden...and I'm loadind up my Watch List on ebay with brushless motors and ESC's for it...
I love that second pic showing that stunningly soft suspension in action in the turn. These cars are such fun to drive. Drove my slash today. 1st time in a whole week. What a blast! Looking forward to getting mine on a track this summer.
Nice. Just got a Dark Impact roller off ebay myself as I was very intrigued with the DF-03 chassis. Had to order a few parts from Japan to get it running. Should get it running this week... Enjoy ...
King blackfoot 2 - project
Thanks. the shell was clear. Overall I'm pretty happy with it. I don't like the headlight stickers so much. I'll peal them off when I have a better idea...Body is available from Parma, Part# 10244 .
Out at the beach while i was been robbed!
Awesome pics mate. Can't wait to take my cars to the beach this summer when the weather gets better here on the East Coast (New Jersey). Very Sorry to hear about breakin..
Welcome back to the hobby and to committing most of you monthly salary to it and ebay. Nice looking truck...yup..just took delivery of an F-350 today...had to sneak it in the house, down to the basement, 'off the radar', if you know what i mean...:-)
When good batteries go bad.....
Holy exploding battery batman, thats scary!! Don't have any words of wisdom, but sorry to hear, what sounded like pretty decent birthday up until then, went up in smoke...
On it's way to being an opel instead sold early '12
Love this Audi. Its probably at the top of my list of cars I gotta have...Nice pics...
Slash wearing its new suit
yeah. Love this truck. It takes alot of abuse. Makes up for my poor driving. I just removed the VXL/Brushless system tonite and put back the XL/5 and Titan motor again for a little less chaos in my life :-p
With the 7cell 5000mah nimh, I think it will be mental enough, without the insanity of the brushless.
'jps' kyosho optima ***sold***
Love that ol' JPS look. Pure Class.
Uncanny..I had the exact same experience. And have the exact same car/body. Check my showroom. I love my slash. Takes such a beating and always has me giggling with geeky joy. I put the VXL brushless in it with a 7cell NIMH, but it is too mental. Put the 550 Titan back in this week to restore sanity...
Yeah. I built a ramp in my back yard. This thing loves to fly. Today, I shot up my driveway full throttle, made a fairly gentle left turn, and it characteristically rolled upside down, and with the momentum, it flew up and over the ramp, whilst still on its roof..almost pee'd myself...neighbors prolly think I'm nuts....haha......Heading to a local track this weekend to watch the first round of outdoor racing this season. hope to see the Slash's racing on dirt. When I improve my driving of this beast, I hope to join them later this year.
Blackfoot 3 restore (part 2 of 3) - paint removed. ready for fresh coat
It does kinda look good like this, the beat-up look. Might do that with the next one :-p ... I was thinking about primer, but wasn't sure what to use under the Tamiya TS paint. Good call on the green-putty. I will swing by the hobby shop today and see if he has it. thanks guys!
Kbf ii (after) sold
Very nice looking KBF. I like all the blackness, with the lights. Great job.
Racing silks t-shirt(s)
Thanks Cooter. Great background info. Yeah, its says '1987 Racing Silks' at the bottom near the front tyre. My son says he saw 2 others in the store. I'll be sure to pick them up next time I'm there..
Racing silks t-shirt(s)
Below T-shirt is an XL.
Retro racers - 1/10 vintage electric buggy series
Ditto on the Jealous factor. Would love a retro race day. Might introduce that idea at our race club.
