Thanx Kev. My wife has actually expressed interest in building this one. I may have to get a second now. (as if I needed an excuse) I like building these almost more than driving them!

You're right kalsh..it's listed in the correct category now Thanx. This is still a work in progress, so I need some stuff, like the front bumper, rear bumper, rims, tires, etc.

Thanx Dirbee! This has got to be the closest thing to scale realism I've seen on any 1/10 scale kit. Tamiya nailed it with this chassis, and the choice of bodies to use. I only wish it had 4wd in reverse.

Yeah, I've got a long way to go with this one. I have some new parts to start the resto, but still need to locate some rims, tires, newer front bumper.

Thanx 3SPD REKR! The info on 4wd reverse will be valuable. I'll give it a go when I start my resto.

3SPD REKR

Awesome custom build!! You have a great collection and your customizing skills make me jealous :)
Thanx for comment, and suggestion on my Mounty! Makes me want to get started on my resto even quicker now!

Richmans toys batmobile
roadog1aj

Yeah, drove it when I first got it back in 89. It was fairly quick considering it's got an all metal chassis. I'd love to do some mods on the body, and have the machine guns pop up, and cockpit rise/slide forward.

Finally starting my long awaited crawler build!!
roadog1aj

Thanx 3SPD REKR!
Yeah, I spent a few clams for upgrades, but wanted to start on the right foot. I am already finding out that the Junfac 4 link kit is better to install than the GPM kit. I plan to upgrade to a 55T or 60T motor and a 3S ESC down the road. And yes, at time like this the High Life flows freely!!!!

Thanx Wyoming! Once I decide on my next build, I usually research the upgrades available, and save up for everything I can, and go from there. Sometimes all the upgrades can total more then the original kit had cost!!! I plan to run this Toyota quite a bit, so I spent some extra clams for parts I thought would help it hold up better. Some of my other builds are relegated to Shelf Queen status.

Hey there def4x4!
Thanx for the Kudos! You are right...there is not many color choices available. At least the Junfac Skid Plate and Drive shaft was black :)
I'm planning to use a Blue for the body, with white for the roof. I think it would go with the blue anodized parts better too. I just got done trimming the body, and drilling the holes for the roof rack & light bar, so my next step is painting the body.

Final chapter on my cc-01 land cruiser build

Thanx guys! Any details in particular you would be interested in def4x4? I don't want to rattle on about something not so interesting :)

Decided to finally clean up my mountee and ball race it

Thanx for the advice Crash! I have now linked the other post to this one at the bottom of this page!
Look me up when you get over this way!!!

Fixing to reassemble my painted mountee frame
roadog1aj

Thanx! Yeah, Crash, I would love to add those Sharpie lines, but I get a little shaky and fear that I'll make a mess of things. Ain't got those steady hands I used to have when I build static models :)

Yes, you are right swedishviking! And compared to some of the other manufacturers out there, Tamiya has set the bar for detail, and quality really really high!

Thanx SRB Bloke! Your builds, reviews, and ideas played a part in my decision to buy one of these! I have plenty of painting and detailing (tyre lettering high on the list) to do over the summer. I usually save my builds for bad weather, and painting for nice weather, less humidity. I'll be adding upgrades to this buggy as time and $$ allow.

Yeah, I love the Rogue Element stuff. Too bad they don't stock anything! I would love to pick up some more stuff for a Sand Scorcher build. I already have the awesome dash board they made a while back, for the Scorcher. I'd love to do nothing but build these things, but alas, work is a necessary evil!!! If only we could get paid to build them....Ahhhhh what a great life it would be indeed.......

Thanx def4x4! I think I might tame it down a bit. I took it out for a shake down run and rolled it twice on my concrete driveway in a matter of about 5 minutes! I'm really glad I had the sense to take the body off before the run. I put the 20T pinion set-up on it, but I might go down to the 15T set-up. Darn thing has way too much grip!

This is the wife's 3rd build, and her favorite so far!
roadog1aj

Yeah...this motor is a mild upgrade to the stock motor, without sacrificing battery life.
