Help! are these parts correct?
BigDuke
Ok thanks for the feedback guys. I wonder if very late production 959s have this piece? I think Ill just use these parts if theyll work. This car is giving some grief and I would have rather had the Porsche piece but if they have the same part numbers possibley it might be a superceded part? This car is intended to be a tidy light runner at the moment so we will see. Thanks for the feedback.

Great! Thanks TIMECMDR. I had only part assembled and it did not look like there was anything like enough steering lock but it is obviously fine,I would have not really wanted to fit these if they were not right but are obviously later parts, Thanks again.

Another project part 1!

Cool,
I really like these and am becoming a bit too addicted to Tamiya as I have just bought a shell for one of these that needs restoration. I realized I have got a set of ranger wheels not Brat ones but the deeper ones. Too many projects draining my time and money!

Thanks for your nice comments. Crash Cramer if you look carefully at the front on shots you can see I've added detail to the front Rad. Doesn't show that well on the pics. Thanks again.

I got the wheels from here. http://www.rcrallyraiders.com/
They fit the hubs etc but were expensive and you have to rub them down and paint. They are not normal plastic but more like fibre glass or resin. You could run the car on them, I have had it running inside on them but they are going to be mainly for display. I don't know what make the tyres are. I took the wheels into a local model shop and held them against loads of different ones until i found some that would fit.

Chesher Cat.
The arms are different to the originals as well. I think the steering has very limited lock now and the servo strains when it hits the stop. I will further fine tune the adjustments to see if that helps. My prop shaft differs from others I have seen so that may explain that. mine has flat ends. Cheers for the feed back. Photos would be interesting.

Budget runner shell
BigDuke
Thanks for the nice comments. I did not know what the reaction would be. I enjoyed doing this but really did not spend too long on it because it was so rough, but weathering it transformed it into a convincing looking shell.Dig out your rough shells and give it a go,its great fun!

I must confess I still have the weathered shell on it on the shelf as i think it looks good next to all the tidy cars. The other shell is just mocked up. check out the new picture at the bottom.

This was meant to be a shelf-queen and for most of the time is. It has a new chassis, new suspension arms etc so I did think I should get a rougher one to run, but I then thought what the hell!, I'm a pretty good driver and as long as I dont hit any thing it should be fine. I would probably end up throwing lots of money at a rough example to get it running this nice.

Wow. Even a light key would have stopped that. Must be car paint or something for it to be that bad.
