Superchamp left forgotten on a high shelf

Thanks for your feed back guys. I think it looks good in the black, although it does remind me of the Hornet. More photos coming soon. Cheers

Rescued rothmans porsche 956 racing master comes back to life
junkmunki

Hey Crash.
I didnt know there was a new racing master series. Having just looked one up on the internet,i would say they would be an exact fit,as i cant see any difference between them and the originals. I would have left my original 'yellowed' and aged wheels on if it wasnt for the fact one of them was badly damaged. I like the look of the original plastic parts when they yellow with age. There is a difference in the chassis and deck plates between the Porsche and Toyota kits, but this is just a difference in the shape and design of the holes,so all the parts from one will fit on the other. I have found plenty of parts for the Toyota Toms, but few for the Porsche. These are great when restored,so let me know how it goes.

Another junkmunki project
junkmunki

Hey all, thanks for the encouragement and comments. Ive just looked through the original manual for this, and the underguard is not mentioned anywhere. I have never seen one before so i dont know whether its an original Tamiya piece or not. It solves the age old problem with this type of chassis though, which is the bottom of the servos are exposed to any crud and road dirt from underneath. I might see if i can get a mould from it and get some vacuum formed. I have just purchased another Lancia rally with no body, but it has a set of really good wheels and tyres. Happy days.

This one i bought new looong time ago.
Alonien

I love the look of these. I dont care that the wheels dont fit the arches and look ungainly, this has got to be the best body they put on that chassis. I have one of these i am just restoring.

And there they were..
Alonien

Great cars, very under rated considering the engineering in one of these. They were not the quickest car,but i love them. I have 14 of them!

My small collection of vintage tamtechs
Crash Cramer

Hey Crash, nice collection. The Tamtech models were kind of the 'unloved' lesser series that Tamiya bought out,but i still think they are fascinating models. Good going.

Nice job there Morgi. Is this an original or re-release body? I am restoring two originals at the moment. Impressive job on the masking up.

Suddenly it happens...
Alonien

Hi Alonien. Nice find,i have two of these that i am restoring. I would leave the wheels as they are,i love the yellow faded look you get from vintage plastics. If you start replacing every thing with new,or trying to make like new,you may as well buy a re-release. Looks good in that colour, ive not seen that before.

Next resto through the door
junkmunki

Hey Marcus
Thanks for the comment. Once the damage to the front wing is fixed,it is going to be treated to a new (original) paint job and then i think it will be lightly used. I have just posted some updates on the resto,so check them out.
Cheers

Toyota lb turbo restoration update
junkmunki

Hi Dirt
When i paint something, and its been left to dry for a week or so,i generally go over it with some 1200 grade wet and dry sand paper and then polish it with some compound. This gets rid of any dust specks and imperfections while giving a deep shine. Its easier on a blocky body shape, but with patience the results can be stunning. Thanks for the comments

Pass the kleenex....... I dont think Tamiya has that many original kits in their collection! How long did it take to build this collection?

Which decal set have you used,is it a re-re set or is it an after market vinyl set? I have not found a good set faithful to the original.
