Oh irony
Racing Master

I think I was indeed quite lucky to buy it. As the seconds went by, and no one was bidding on it, I thought there was something wrong with it. I went to the UK to pick the car up. The very friendly owner told me he bought it new 20 years ago when a friend of his closed down his hobby shop. It sat in his loft ever since.

I was quite impressed by this gift I must say, but a coffee mug isn't that bad either!

I always wanted this one when I was a kid, but they were impossible to find back then. You did a great job on this car.

Hey Paul, if you keep on writing such long stories for every kit you buy, you will have to edit a book soon. It will be a 458 page turner!

That is strange because I bought it from a UK guy who bought it from the first owner.

Toyota lb turbo with new body set

I don't know how to paint the body. The red and white one is definately more sexy than the standard blue one, but more difficult to paint off course!

This is definately Tamiya's version of the holy grail. Have you got any idea how many were built?
I thought the black bumper was the same as the one on the Porsche 935 and Tyrrell P34, but I can be mistaken.
Thanks to the pictures, it's not necessary for the rest of us to buy a real one!

I can't see why people call these srbs.

In this case, SRB means Suspension Racing Buggy. I remember when they released the car that I was quite impressed with the FFPDS!

Perhaps I got lucky with my polish then because I do it for 8 years now. The only problem is that my bottle is almost empty and I don't know which make it was.

An early black bumper scorcher, english (uk) edition in flawless condition
loaded

This truly is a great find. It is interesting to see that there are details that are different on the box art. Riko must have sold quite a few of these to have their logo printed on the box lid. I remember from reading mr Tamiya's book, Master Modeler, creating the Tamiya style, that Tamiya had a very special relationship with Riko because they were the first European Tamiya distributor.
Are the tickets for your museum already on pre-sale?

One of the worst days in my life as a collector
Racing Master

Thanks for your help and kind comments guys. Actually EMS told me they searched their warehouses already, but the package can't be found. It passed customs, but was apparantly lost when it was put on the truck and departed form the main hub. It could be everywhere. My guess is that someone just stole it.

Hi Jerome,
It already passed customs, but was lost somewhere between the central hub and the delivery hub.
