The original tamiya 3 speed, a great model!!!
spankrjs
Yes, these 3 speeds can be torn down just like the Bruiser/Mountaineer 3 speed. There are a few minor differences, the spur gear being the largest.

My new juggernaut ii project part 1

The pictures are a bit deceiving, but it still looked ok. The paint stripped off easy, it just had Testors sprayed directly to the plastic, so stripping was easy:-) It did move pretty fast with those motors ;-)

Friendly competition/build off always welcome:-) Judging from your showroom, we share interest in quite a few of the same models. Hope to finish paint stripping/body prep this weekend, should have all my parts next week, fingers crossed;-)

Depending on the paint, different techniques work best. On this model, I simply sprayed the remover on, let it sit 5 minutes, then used an old tooth brush to gently remove the paint. This removed 90% of the paint. I then sprayed more stripper on the model, let it sit 5 minutes, and literally wiped the remaining paint off. This particular paint job was very easy to strip, Testors spray paint, no primer. Other paint/primer combinations are far harder to remove.

My new juggernaut ii project part 4

I tried it out, but I think I was pressing too hard, it dented the body instead of building up a bead:-( I am sure I was not doing something correct, your results are amazing :-)

Appreciate it ;-) I figure the bright red will help me in two ways once I add the brushless system: 1) easier to see as it zooms around 2) easier to find parts LOL :-0
