Glad you like it. Aggie is dead chuffed too. And I shall report back in due course as to whether the bumper and body mounts do the job, I’ve made an adjustable ramp out of an old estate agents sign board and some string. Let’s see what happens when she only gets two wheels onto that!

Thanks – I'm particularly pleased with the threaded rod. It makes the battery cover slightly fiddlier to get off, but on the plus side, it stops it ever coming off of its own accord.

Thanks for your comments. And yes, the battery cover still slides out ok. It’s just a bit stiff as it presses against the rod, but you don’t have to remove the rod to get the cover out. It’s a mod I’ll definitely make again too, on a Hornet I have tucked away, and do BEFORE the gearbox mounts crack!

I put its timeless looks down to the fact that it feels like its based on a real car with bodywork that was custom built from flat sheets, as opposed to being a swooping work of fantasy. And I love the fact that as a model, it's ripe for tinkering. There are so many opportunities to try and improve it. I think I would be bored if I had a car that was mechanically perfect!
