MODEL LOOKS STUNNING!! REALLY GREAT!!
BTW, My late Dad actually had a Merc-Benz 27 or so ton lorry with a box-shaped long body, as part of his transport business and that left quite an impression on me especially when we moved house with it instead of using a removals company :-) That was 20 years ago. I think that I am happy if I can just model them instead. I would love to have a go at one of these...so question no.1 on my mind is how do you change gear on them with a 2 function TX ?? Thanks for any help.
Alistair.

My other passion-what goes up.....
Markthebus

Ever been to John White models here in St.Helens? I live just down the road from him and his shop is fairly large and packed full of heli's from Vario and others. I bought a NIB Hirobo shuttle heli just 'cause I was so fascinated by these things. One day I might even fly it!!

WOW! That's a nice looking truck! Great location as well. The Grey body colour really suits it well. I'd like a metallic grey but then I love metallics. This is the pinnacle of Tamiya Scale Realism. Wonderful stuff! Cheers, Alistair G.

Tamiya / carson audi (sport) quattro s1 #58447
Live Steam Mad

Looks like I got away relatively lucky out of this one then, since I got 2 NIB cars and 2 ESC's and postage from Germany all for 200 GBP... The car kit components and the shells and decals and ESC's are all in perfect condition. From what you say, and from my slightly bashed boxes, the guy does seem to maybe be a rogue!! I am sorry to hear about your charger being broken, that must have felt annoying, you have my sympathies. Oh well, good job that I did quite well out of my experience, I am happy with my 2 ace cars!

Looks like the yellow one is a Chevron (Japan) bodyshell. See http://www.chevronmodels.com and click on 'RC Car Body' on the left and then click on the picture of the Sport Quattro on the right to see the decals that you get with it. Also see ;-http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=17774&id=2921 for someone who has one. Also see http://www.tamiyaclub.com/xforum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=14994 for more info (on 2nd page of this topic in the Forum)... Cheers, Alistair G.

Pajero's are our favorites (robert)
JO+RO

Simply Incredible paint job on this one I feel - the awesome shiny metallic finishes are my favourite and make it look hyper-realistic. The 2nd and 4th pictures here are just breathtakingly real to me. What paints / coatings did you use? Cheers, Alistair G.

Blue velvet (jochen)
JO+RO

Your Pajero MTW is VERY shiny and looks awesome! I just love those metallic paints with the *bling* factor, makes the model look VERY real.
What is this incredibly nice 'Blue Velvet'? Is it the 'model name' of some kind of blue metallic paint? What brand is the paint and what's it called?
Cheers, Alistair G.

What brand / model was the PolyUrethane clear coat that you used to make it so incredibly nice and shiny and metallic in looks? It looks like a real truck body. Cheers, Alistair G.

Lan truck
ant88

This is either barking mad, very brave, or total genius! Probably genius, looking at the craftsmanship involved.. I can't believe that you have squeezed a full working contempary PC into there... Your truck looks incredible with all the lights and features! I really like the paint job and colour, very cool! Talk about a mobile PC! I like the humorous Intel Inside advert :-) Tell me something though.. when you crash the truck through bad driving, does that mean that you have (head) crashed the PC's Hard Disk as well ?! ;-)
This has to be just about the most *bling* that you can ever fit to one of these trucks! A seemless integration of electrical and mechanical engineering, hats off to you Sir, it's Superb! Cheers, Alistair G.

Tamiya carson audi quattro turbo coupe gr. 4 rally car
dcrismon

You lucky star! Your box isn't bashed like mine was :-) The tricky bit is putting the windscreen wipers on and drilling the body post holes with swivel head pin chuck drill and taper reamers, it's vital to get the hole position right and there are no guide dimples on the body to help you...only for the fog lights holes and rear wing holes. Also watch when you trim along the bottom edge of the body. Mine just needs paint and decals now. Any help needed, just ask me. Good luck! I love the look of the long wheelbase Quattro. Seen the short wheelbase Sport Quattro? Have a look in the other Tamiya/Carsons in the showrooms to see one... Best Wishes, Alistair G.

Heh heh, yep! Actually I have noticed that you just about never see them in full size now, but in the mid-1980's they were as common as Tamiya 3 x 10 tapping screws...

The Raptor is plain Ugly compared to this lovely little model, in my opinion! I don't think that my own Shuttle Plus will be flying any time soon :-( Let us know what yours is like to fly, won't you?! Cheers, Alistair G.
