That last bottom picture, when I see those screws with washers to hold the motor, pinion with the spur and last but not least, the inscription - all stands for quality. Very Nice.

Without telling me first what other gems you have hidden in your Aladdin's cave. Come on, you know I'm not that hard to deal with and you have many other important projects to get on with, so cut me some slack here? Haha. I'm only messin. Hey, seriously. Stay in touch, we're basically neighbors compared to the whole community of TC subscribers spread throughout the globe?

Avante 2011 - not so out of reach.
Dirt-Racer

_Simple_ Never say never... I said the same thing 20+ years ago about those peeps who had the monopoly on those Bruiser 3 speeders and to no lesser degree, Tamiya Avante. Work hard to achieve your Professional goals in life (Education & Career) and you WILL get your just reward. I'll be happy with 1 Avante but someone made me an offer I couldn't refuse and was begging me to take it away from him knowing I'm going to keep it an NIB and possibly want to buy some of it back from me whilst he's sorting out his life.

@Klausen, I couldn't agree more.

@ MAD-DEE, Nope, none of those lol... As per the description up top, this is 40+ years in the making, saving and committing money into a pot and letting it sit for 20yrs.

@hedge, You mussta had a good reason at the time, you make the best decision could then back then, it's done ~ moving forward, I'll keep a couple of these stashed somewhere for you and when the time is right, you could but these off me - Maybe, If you're itch for them is stronger than ever

Mad bull raging to be built
Dirt-Racer

871c2, Yeah they certainly had fun with it, we had to strip the gearbox on both of them since it didn't seem to be working properly and we sat there for a while trying to figure at why as we're tightening up the screws, the transmission would just lock up and stop to spin freely. I looked at the instructions and found out the washer/shim that supposed to sit behind one of the bevel gears was missing and was left in the spares bag. The problem corrected itself as soon as we fitted it in. Amazing how one little thing like that could cause all the hassle but they learnt to read the instructions with a little more care and how to solve a problem. I was a little disappointed the shocks weren't oil dampening and So I'm looking for some cheap oil filled aluminum aftermarket one's, nothing fancy. I bought them both bearing kits since I can't for the life of me understand why they even makes these at this day and age.. One other problem I'm seeing is the lack of option to use a LiPo instead of the old design battery dimensions. Do you have any suggestions? I guess I can always get some ole Nihms on ebay?

@Stompin Around, I know right? If you count the amount of years wanting one of these but was always out of reach and then along comes a massive opportunity to acquire these, even you couldn't say no to that? lol.

@Tamiyastef. Santa, good fortune, luck. What ever someone wants to use, yes life has been good to grant me some wishes come true this year and what a roller coaster year it has been, no?

@woomagic, lol... I got lucky okay? I don't know, maybe the planets were aligned in such an awkward & unique manner so that my wishes would come true but what I do know to be true. You never give up on your dreams. Some folks achieve theirs on the spot and some (like me) had to wait XXXX amount of years. But I can empathize with your sentiments, I was in the same mindset when I was new to TC and found myself lost amongst the folks who had these so hard to find models, it was a lot more scarce to find any NIB's of these awesome cars. 1) there were very rare, much more then than now. 2) They were mind blowingly expensive back then ~ the originals still, are. There re-releases offered me a chance. Don't loose hope, you have a far better chance getting one of these in the future than I ever did back then. GL in your quest.

Super shot became the 'super hotshot' since when??
Dirt-Racer

Hmm, not sure who our Mr Phantom is, perhaps he's on the 'pulling me leg' spree, I don't know for certain. I am on the lookout for some information on this, so far this is what I found regarding the name re-release. https://fun-with-rc.blogspot.com/2012/12/tamiya-super-hotshot-2012.html ..

They state this on their website. It seems plausible.

Tamiya Super HotShot (2012)
The Tamiya Super HotShot (58517) is a faithful re-release of the original Tamiya Super Shot (58054) from 1986. It is unclear why Tamiya renamed the re-release under the 'Hot Shot' moniker as there doesn't seem to be any known licensing or trademark issue with the name 'Super Shot'. However, Tamiya did a good job of keeping the spirit of the original alive by using the same stars-inside-the-O's font style in the model name as the original which makes it instantly recognizable. Most people that remember the original will ask 'Is that really the Super Shot?' To dispell any rumors to the contrary, the first bullet item on the lower-left of the box states 'Improved re-release version of item 58054 from 1986.'

Tamiya egress #2
Dirt-Racer

Hey JerseyRC, if you're a bit late in this game then I'm into extra time. I'm way beyond late in terms catching these re-release. Couldn't be helped, Family is a full time occupation. Given this covid era, have given me great pause and an opportunity to grab some of the tail ends of these re-release models. If only I can find a way to grab a hold of a few of these Egress's without paying an arm and a leg. I'm almost certain I could've bought me an NIB with the money I spent on this. But I'm still grateful to have caught something. You're more of a daredevil than I am to race this, I would just be jelly trying to race this, telling myself to take it easy, you can't afford to crash this you sillly ole bugger. I love racing but I'm cringing right now just by the thought of it lol..
