Thanks MAD-BEE. Really appreciate this, and your other comments. Wow £35 those were the days! It's such an iconic buggy that I always wanted. I just had to have one!

Hey Tamiyastef, I appreciate your comment. They're the stock white kit wheels just spray painted black (TS-14 I think)! Thanks.

Looks awesome mate! I've got one arriving tomorrow! Might put a Sport Tuned motor in it, not sure yet, but I'm definitely gonna be using red wheel nuts again too. Nice!

Another incredible collection! I thought I was pleased to have an original Sand Scorcher with box and manual, but NIB and the other three! Amazing stuff.

I'm new to the club, and have just started creating my showroom. I've had one of these on order since March! Apparently it's turning up next week, but I'll believe that when I see it with all the shipping delays. Can't wait though!

Grasshopper 2 black edition
BubbaGump365

Not sure yet mate. I've got ball bearings, and a Sport tuned motor... Probably too much for the chassis but will be a laugh! Red wheel nuts of course! The black moulded shell is finished much better than my Black Edition Super Clod (that had to be painted, as had sink marks all over it), so I'll probably just leave the shell as it is and apply the decals. I like the CVA shocks, and nice too that it has the latest tble-04 ESC. I don't think I'll deviate too far from box art on this. I like it as it is and for its simplicity. Hardly any parts in the main box!!

Grasshopper 2 black edition
BubbaGump365

Thanks again James for the great comments, and the tip on the shock oil too! I must say I love kits like this. I get just as much pleasure from building the simpler ones as I do from the more challenging ones, restorations, or tricky paint jobs. That's what makes our hobby so great! Cheers Phil.

I'm fairly new to the club and am really enjoying looking at peoples collections. You commented on my custom Sand scorcher so I thought I'd check out your amazing collection. Then I saw this!! Wow it's incredible! Amazing! By the way as a kid I spent 10 years living in Belgium (Overijse and Waterloo), and that's where my love of Tamiya started with my friends! Great memories.

@J@mes no not all 5 versions, but 2 x original Chevy clods, 2x Black Edition Super Clods (1 built, 1 NIB), 1 x 'custom' clod I did (chrome edition copy without the chrome body!!). Thanks a lot for your comment.
@hot rod, thanks too for your comment. Glad you like it, and yeah they do take up a lot of shelf space!!

The grasshopper
BubbaGump365

I agree! It's the car that got me hooked in the eighties, as a friend of mine at school had one. I'd never even heard of Tamiya until then, but it wasn't long until I was flicking through the Tamiya catalogue dreaming of what I wanted. Would it be the Grasshopper or the Hornet or could I push my parents to buy me a 4WD model! As it was 1986 and the Boomerang had just been released, that's what I decided I wanted, and I still have it today, but yeah the Grasshopper was the launch car for me into the world of RC. Great memories!
