This is a current project. Fitted with a Kamtec Radio Box with the direct steering servo conversion done, and new rear wheels (squinty white!). The shell was originally painted in think orange Dayglo paint which was a biyatch to get off, infact the stripper ended up eating the shell, so it was dunked in water pronto and left while I worked out what to do. Well, I got bored quite quickly (normal for me) so it got completely stripped, primed and sanded. A couple o days after that I cracked out the airbrush and a bunch o' paints and let the imagination take control. Decided that i would emulate a Sunny Yellow paint job that has suffered from neglect. This is the result thus far....................

Ok I'm with you on the body colour that's sweet - what's the plan with with the grille & bumpers? Flat black maybe?
karooha MB
Thanks Mad Zero, the grill and bumpers need a little rub down to reveal the chrome. I am also thinking about putting lenses in the lights, and greening them grom the inside. I need to either find or fabricate a new rear bumper, and the glass. I think I have an old Scorcher driver somewhere...........

Looks like more than neglect! Nice work!

Never seen a body works like this before. Are you going to use tinted windows for this one? Any videos of it?
Swarm
Love the look of it it looks very tired and over worked very nice

Thanks, just received a steel Bull Bar from Creswell, superb, pic on its way.
neobrunox
yes nice project, just the rear wheels are too clean
karooha MB
Yeah, way too clean. Would like to find some alternative wheels for it, so I wont paint these. I like RC4WD dirt grabbers, but haven't found an obvious wheel choice yet. But here are the Bull Bars and Nerf Bars!

nice work BUT! i have never seen glossy rust... need to flatten it out a bit
karooha MB
Absolutely, too shiney, but still at stage one. I have a bunch of weathering and dulling to do, and some rust build up in the corners etc.
SRB Bloke
Different paintwork, but I like it....

Nice looking Ranger, love the rusty look!

Cheers Def and SRB Bloke, gonna be a work in progress I think

A whole lot of weathering (see last pics) has happened! Got busy with the pigments tonight, and I am quite pleased with the result so far. The entire body has had a treatment of faded yellow, old and new rust, some metal on the grill, and some resin/pigment gloopy rust added to the recesses. Late night pics with bad flash dont help the picture quality, I'll get some shots in the sun tomorrow. Here is a question for you guys. Whats wrong with my shell/Chassis combination. I cant help thinking either the shell is too long, the chassis is too short, or the holes aren't in the right place, as the front arches seem to sit too far forward, therefore limiting suspension travel. The rear arches are central over the wheels. Its strange.
