Burgundy (pink) tribute RC10
I found this car for $20 in Burbank, CA. It needed some love and this is how it came out. I painted the body Pactra Burgundy which looks like metallic pink which is the same color I painted my original RC10 Team Car. See related vehicle.
I replaced the suspension arms as those had been worn out. The rears had chunks taken out where the CVD hinge backed out and tore up the arm. I dropped in an RPM 2.65 transmission and some 'worlds' knuckles up front. The shock towers are the carbon fiber ones you can get on ebay. I also made the conversion to 2.2 wheels so that I can run modern rubber. I think this car was originally an RC10 CE as it came with white parts that were dyed black and gold shocks. The previous owner dyed the parts with all the hardware attached. I replaced the shocks with a hard anodized set I had laying around. The golds will be rebuilt and put to use on another project. I also cut new wing tubes from some aluminum tubing. It came with the RPM gear cover and a Houge steering system. I used the Houge on another build and added an A&L steering system.
I have a couple of pics of what it looked like before I fixed it up. They're not that great as I took them with my phone. I didn't think to take better pics of the 'before'.
New parts added:
- RPM RC10 suspension arms
- B3 MIP CVDs
- B3 front and rear wheels
- Carbon fiber shock towers (via ebay from atlas)
- Lunsford titanium turnbuckles
- A&L steering
- RPM 2.65 transmission
-Wing close-up by request :)

That pink/burgundy paint looks great with that colour scheme 8-) Great project - looks like you've done a superb refurb job, reminds me of my Worlds runner that I recently completed (think you left a comment on that?)

@Dan - Yes, that Worlds build of yours is fantastic. I love seeing the old RC10s being brought back out for a go.
