Tamiya Treasure SOLD !!!
'For years you search for something and then two of them show up in the same place at the same time'.
I thought finding 2 Original Black Porsche 934 RSR's was the highlight of my Tamiya collecting.
As some of you know I just love Tamiya SRB's and 3 Speeds, luckly enough about 2 years ago I managed to get a Mint Original 1980's Hilux 3 speed from my Mate Don ( Bluefoot ). I am not a collector of NIB kits really, but after seeing a mint 3 Speed kit I just had to get myself a NIB SRB kit and the only one I really wanted was a Scorcher.
A few days ago I was emailing my friend Phil TC member Willyman and he said he would sell me one of his NIB Scorcher kits. I was really pleased that Phil made one available for me to have, then he emailed me to see if I would be interested in a second earlier edition NIB Scorcher. The deal was fantastic so I just had to have them both.
I went to see Phil and he showed me both kits. The First Later edition kit was pretty much Mint and in superb unmarked condition. The second earlier kit was not as good as the first, but who cares it was a good 8/10 condition and a couple of blisters had been partially opened. The rest of the kit was perfect.
Phil was a Gentleman and everything he had explained in his description was spot on. He is a Porsche lover too so we got on very well.
Thanks again Phil.
I must admit I was shaking with excitement on the journey home.
That evening I laid out both kits on the living room floor and studied each kit in detail. It was like being 12 years old again FANTASTIC !!!!.
It is amazing how different the kit contents are, even the artwork on the boxes is slightly different from the early to the late kit.
The early edition has the Mk 1 castings and fittings and the later one has the stronger cast parts included and small holes either side of the on/off switch on the radio box lid.
I was told by Phil that these models came through the hands of my good friend Paul TC member Loaded, which is a very good news to me as I know Paul well and he only deals with very good quality Tamiya kits. Yet another couple of NIB kits that have been through the Loaded supply chain.
As some of you will know I also like to build Custom SRB's, hacking wings and modifying bodies. I have also been known to cut sections out of perfectly good Original Scorcher bodies ( This was for Tamiyaclub's benefit though !!!!).
Both of these kits will stay NIB, there is no way I will be making any Custom Scorcher's out of these two, so don't worry !!!!!
It just goes to show that in this hobby you never know what you will find, that's what I love about it.
Thanks for looking.
Cheers
Rad

I always think there are enthuisiasts on Tc and (others) showrooms that simply double as shops , I highly rate your work and you are a true enthuisiast
