TA-02 4X4 update #2 (Sold 4/10/12)
This is my TA-02 based 4X4 Ford Bronco project. I am still not sure about how to mount the front of the body over this chassis, but once I get to find the best way to do that, I'll paint it and it will be finished. I'm in hopes to get it ready sometime next month so it can be ready next September, when the sun comes back to my side of the world.
You all have a great weekend!

Great project - I really like the older Broncos and know of someone here in Michigan with a perfect orange/white one. Very nice combination. On the body mounting, if you can fab up a bracket under the hood, try using some magnets instead of posts poking up through the body. This worked very well for my recent SCX10 project, and keeps the look scale.

Thanks Norm! Well, I can try regular posts but I also have some velcro. I'm only in need of time to try more options. I love Broncos, and I believe Tamiya should have done a hard version of this model decades ago.

Wow that is looking great so-far Erich
I like the TA-02 With the big wheels and tires.
It is sure very realistic looking with the nice grill.

I agree, Tamiya would have sold a BILLION of these if they had made a hardbody version of this. I think the velcro is the way to go on this mount, perhaps some semisolid foam to attach it to. I am sending you a bit of that foam this trip, so keep your eyes out when I can get to the post office. Chris

Very cool project, I love this body unlike any other Bronco RC body Tamiya got the proportions much closer to right and it looks so scale sitting on narrow trucks like this

Thank you, guys! Well, last night I decided to try front posts, and so I ended up mounting the body by making holes. If I have some time tomorrow I will be able to paint it.
The chassis itself is stock, but I have a subtle modification in mind for it to work better. The Bronco now runs very good.
Will post more pictures when ready.
