G'day Guys
I recently bought this re re boomer for my son Dominic. I didn't want to do another box art boomer so we tried to do something a little different. I had all the blue bits chrome plated, changed the yellow shocks for some chrome yeah racing items, painted the shell in perl clear, then mettalic red, white & gunmetal grey, a little bit starsky & hutch style. I painted the wheels black & drilled out the 5 lug plastic nuts & installed screws & bolts commonly found in SS wheels , but back to front so that they look like scale wheels nuts. I really like how u can see the chromed roll bar inside the shell. It's all stock apart from bearings, as Dom will use this when he gets a bit older for vintage racing in 4wd stock class. Even with the stock 540 & the smallest pinion , it flew with a 4200 lipo, I was really surprised, it even gave my bigwig a run for it's money with the technigold & 3200 lipo.
One complaint with the boomer was with the front dogbones. They were binding terribly, I had to file down about 2mm off the length & also taper the tabs so that it ran smooth with the steering turned. Otherwise it was sweet.
Sorry the action pics aren't that good, my 7 year old daughter Sienna took the pics as Dom & I were driving.
it won't be to everyones taste but I think it's pretty cool, most of all Dom loves it!

Looks totally awesome, Boomers look the best in non-boxart schemes. Love the number plate

This Boomerang is great Jak. I like your ideas. Very refreshing to see a boomer of a different flavor. Dig the stealthy wheels and I love the chromed theme. If you don't mind me asking, which Yeah Racing dampers did you fit?
Jak Rizzo
I just measured the origanal dampers & got the same , I think they are 80mm on the front & 100mm on the rear. I think I deliberatly got 5mm shorter ones on the rear to make is sit a little lower.

Yet again another excellent non-box art creation. The Boomerang holds a special place in my heart and this is one of the best I've seen. Straight in my favourites!

Jak, that's amazing. It looks properly mean now. You have given it a very modern street look now. I think it looks absolutley fantastic. I'm not usually a fan of the Boomerang, but you just completely changed my mind on this. Fair play bud, brilliant work!

Pic 7 is absolutely AWESOME and I really hate to see all these cool Boomers come out when it won't be that easy to get even a RE RE NIB as I like to build NIB kits when they are affordable. I used to think that only Dr.Roberts' red color scheme Boomer was the best on the site, this one is an equal to that as I can't choose favorites right now. Beautiful looker you have there.
