'Nymphette' - a mini Aerokits Sea Nymph - Part 2
I drew up a plan for a model that mimics an old Sea Nymph... a 50's kit by Aerokits that was 18'' long - 459mm.
The length of my model is only 12.2'' - 308mm
When complete, it will have a 280 motor and 2-function radio...
Power will be a 750mah 2S li-po.
The model is all balsa - except for the decks and the outer face of the transom.
Those are 1/64'' plywood - 0.4mm thick.
The propeller shaft and rudder assembly were custom made to suit such a small model.
A standard 8mm diameter brass sterntube would be too big for this... too heavy as well.
They are from 4mm diameter steel tube... their bearings are machined teflon.
Picture 4: the 'lids' are removed to show the servo extension lead that is built into the side deck - to take power from the ESC - in the cabin with the motor - to the receiver and rudder servo - under the rear deck.

Looks very very good, Keven. I have a buddy who is interested in getting into wooden boats, so I will show him this one. Your work is excellent.

Oooo - Sea Urchin ! Nice...
I'll be making one of those, at some time... I have two watercooled diesels that are modified to run with carburettors.

Thanks !
I have just begun to make the 'wheelhouse' lid - a 'hatch' that will fit inside the model to cover the battery compartment - and provide the 'helm'...
More pictures - later.
