I finished my low budgets resto on my $35 clod lot. I sold the old radios for $37 so basically had nothing in the clods to start but since I wanted them like new I replaced the chassis tubs with Super Clod spec metal braced ones from ebay, I replaced a few other small parts but mostly these just had to be taken apart, cleaned have ball bearings installed and reassembled with only the odd small part being replaced. I dyed some of the red parts on the blue truck with Rit dye and added some old TLT shocks I had left from a different clod. I got some of Tamiyoman's repro clod decals which are great for the tan truck. I stripped all the beat up and scratched old chrome on both of them and painted satin white and black leaving small amount of chrome for headlight buckets and center of grille. I bought some low cost $17 Axial newly removed RTR radios from RPP hobby's salvage yard and some used LRp esc's, I used low cost left over Krylon paint I had in my shop, Global Blue and Greek Stone (tan) for the bodies and to save on the cost of brake fluid I did not strip the bodies but instead just carefully wet sanded them and painted over the old paint. So my total cost per truck is now about $60-75 each but they look and run like new and I'm sure I'll have fun with them this winter.

So my question is which one do you guys like better?

Which one do you guys like better? Tamiyoman repro decals w/ 5 coats satin clear 2 simple blue version (used to be black) 2 nearly stock look (used to be yellow) 1 Tail shot 3 Nose 3 Clean and simple with hidden ESC electrics The $35 yard sale lot I started with nasty old MSC and dust they were actaully wuite nice under the dust

Nice work Wyo. I vote the blue one but they both look nice. Good eye for detail, like the wheels.

Well I really dig the grill work on both trucks. i also love the way those shocks look on the blue one. I also love the cheap investment. But, my favorite choice would be the tan body on the all black chassis. I think you should swap the bodies around and send me the tan one You have done a nice job with a great find. Well done

Have to say the beige Clod, due to the coo repro decals, and how awesome it looks...

Love them both, I admire the speed at which you restored both of these. My clod is still in bits 6 months later.

The Tan one is bang on and quite 70's (IMO). The repro decals are very cool. I'm thinking a Brat would like cool in the Tan and Brown. I also agree re swapping the chassis' around. All of that said, the blue one is very very nice too! Quality work.

I absolutely fell in love with the blue one. Its got the right vintage looks with a great scale apperance. The shocks are the icing on the cake!

Love them both. Just disappointed that they are not featured in The Chevy Crew. They both have Bowtie grilles and the Chevrolet tailgate, prime Chevy Crew material.

I like them both, but the blue one is my favorite. The clue color and the white details reminds me of the chevy vans from the 60s and 70s. Love the black center on the rims too.

I have to lean towards the blue, certainly has the looks of the real deal in a TOUGH TRUCK competition or the county fair monster crusher series. There is something about the tan truck needing those Rancho shocks though??? Very cool, would be stoked to drive either one.
