SRB Stands
I'll be the first to admit my woodworking skills got left behind at the classroom door many years ago. This weekend I was in a creative (woodworking) mood and sought ways to lift my SRB's off the shelf mainly to prevent the dreaded tyre FLATSPOT and take a load off the aging suspension. I went down to my local Bunning's hardware store and purchased a few bits of Tasmanian Oak to create what you see here...I think it serves the purpose. I thought about resting the buggy on paint lids, but was really desperate to get the wood saw out for some fun. Each stand works out to be AUD$8 and about 20mins of work. I have used my old Ranger chassis to demonstrate and now the tyres can breath a sigh of relief!

Thats a good idea , maybe a good light sanding and a coat of varnish to finnish . and a brass plaque with name of model sitting on it

Very Nice idea.

Thanks guys! The varnish and brass plaque idea sounds sweet. Down the track I am going to make other stands to cater for my other models also!

Cool idea and if you are ever without power, you have firewood in an extreme emergency kind of way.

Thanks for the kind comments. I wanted something that was easy to make, sturdy and will look decent. Chris, emergency firewood

A good idea as the tyres do suffer after a while if left under load but I used old VHS videos or the boxes (hard plastic types) with the clear covers torn off!!
These also make good places to keep spares for each model ie: body pins, wheel nuts, tools etc. especially if you have quite a few models.
