Custom King Blackfoot
Hey guys,
I'm really glad to show you my finally finished King Blackfoot. This project took forever!
It all started with a used KBF I got cheap of the bay. As the Box art really doesn't do it for me on this one, I wanted to go custom. But first the body needed some work. It had holes drilled everywhere and some deep scratches. So I bought a new Blackfoot Extreme body, cut out the bonnet (which is different on the Extreme) and filled in the original KBF one.
I had some TS-75 Champagne Gold and TS-42 Light Gun Metal around for my Hilift Hilux which I thought would look nice here. Another color I always wanted to try was the newish TS-82 Rubber Black, which I used for the rear bed and front bumper. It really gives that rubber look! Another thing I had left and wanted to use somewhere was the 'Free Wheelin' logo from the Ford Ranger XLT. I didn't like it on my Ranger, but think it blends in nicely here. It all went on great and was sealed with several coats of TS-13 clear. As always I rushed it and the base colours started running! :-( It took me two days to repair the damage including repainting the Gun Metal and polishing the body. Still not perfect.
As the stock rollbar looks rather bland in plastic, I bought a chromed one. It was then I knew I needed more chrome!
I remembered having a chromed Re-Re Brat chassis tucked away somewhere which came to use as well as some chromed KBF wheels. As a reminiscence to the original Blackfoot as well as the Bruiser it got some Blackfoot shoes. The final touch were cheapish chrome alloy shocks with stock springs.
Tobbe, Champagne SIG opened! :-)

Very nicely done, perhaps Tamiya needs to make notice and throw this into kit form as all the parts are in their spares bin, I hope. I think the paint is about as perfect as I could ever imagine doing myself. I wish I had that chrome chassis out of personal envy, but the grey arms and chrome do great together. I will have to find some Rubber Black paint as from what I see, it looks exactly like its name. More shots of the bed when you have a chance.

Looks excellent. Nothing beats the look of the original Black Foot Firestone tires, and Tobbe's color makes it look really awesome. Great job!
Dante77
Wow, thanks again guys! You're great!
Chris, I added a pic of the 'rubber' bed for you!

Alfons, those rims are chromed King BF. They look similar to the Bruiser wheels.
