HAUL OF A LIFETIME !!!!!!!!!
Today was the best day of collecting Tamiya I have ever had in my life. This is a long read so bear with me and enjoy the story. Started with me finding an add for a Tamiya R/C car. I called the fellow and he said you may want to come over and see what I have. My buddy and I got in his truck and drove almost to New Mexico (A few hours from where I live)... I wasn't exactly sure what I would find when i got there.... but there were key words that caught my attention during the phone call...Bruiser..Mountaineer...Hilux....Boxes of tires...boxes of parts......I was so excited I could hardley stand it......After my friend and I arrived at the fellows house and an hour of digging around his garage pulling out cars, parts, boxes etc...I came home with all of this...I can tell you it was not cheap but It was a GREAT!!!!!!!! price. All these items filled up an entire bed and backseat of my friends truck.....I still can't believe this haul.....For me it is a haul of a lifetime !!!!!!! It will take me quite a while to sort through all of this. I will be restoring all of these cars for a year......I cant wait to see what is at the bottom of some of these boxes !!!!!!! Comments welcome...Thanks for looking !!!

You got all of the important Tamiya models. And even a pulling sled! WOW -congrats, Dan!!
Could not help to smile at the sight of the Folsom Prison at the back of the picture, ha ha. I'm sure the one that ol Johnny got to see was not as nice.
Anyway, sign me up for a FAV's receiver's battery cover if you have a spare one, Dan. It's the last bit I'm missing to finish the dang car.
slimmy
OMG!!!! Buddy.... You are right. That is a score of a life time. And i am sure you got a great deal. Congrats on an spectacular bed load of loot. By the way, in that box of tires is there any sand blaster jr fronts? Some of those would be awesome. And make you a LOT of new friends, lol

Well done, that is such a great find. Its great to see that people still have such treasures stashed away in their garages and lofts just waiting to be snapped up by someone that will really appreciate them. I had a similar haul of F1 cars and parts. Just looking though box after box of cars and parts is a wonderful feeling and I hope you enjoy evvery minute of it.!!

7.2inchdriver
man, that is awesome. I had a similar experience last spring and got half a dozen vintage tanks plus a ton of parts much the same way. I still remember the thrill, so I know the high you are on right now. Awesome post.
superchampjohn
WOW!!! Very nice find. If I send you a few Bucks, can you buy me a Lottery Ticket? You seem to have all the good luck in your little corner of the world......
Crash Cramer
Well, I know you haven't slept since you picked this up, but HOLY CRAP BATMAN, that is a big haul. It is a good thing your friend's truck has a camper shell on it to keep all this cargo safe for the drive back. Now I know you have to sell that Caddy of yours. I bet my measly Frog isn't on your list anymore either. I have the next two days off, wish I were a bit closer to help you sort all this stuff out. I want dibs on the Celica GT-4, but not for myself. I would rather restore that Hauler. I am still dumbstruck looking at all this but I certainly LMAOROF when I saw your dog's prison, but the door was wide open, so I guess it was just a time out. I agree with Slimmy, if you had that many Sand Blaster JR tires, your list of friends would be pretty long by now. Enjoy and congrats, call the insurance agent and up the coverage on your house now so nothing happens.
Fernado Alonso

Tamiyamandan
Update: I think I found enough stuff to actually build a Ford Ranger, I could build another SS or RR but I found a brand new set of Ranger tires and rims in a bag....I am still in disbelief !!!!!
kstar
Wow, this is amazing. How do you pick a prize for this? I also wonder why this guy had all this stuff (like the box of tires)?
Tamiyamandan
He told me in 1986 he bought out a Hobby Store that was closing....The tires are in their factory original tamiya Box....
henrikw

HOLY SHi@$#&& I am impressed, you must have spent quite a bit even if you did get this stuff for a deal--- Anyway, this is definitely the find of a lifetime. I get pretty excited if I find a mis-placed five dollar bill in my coat pocket. But I would have a freakin' nervous breakdown if I scored this much vintage Tamiya kit! Good job brother!
Naxman
Wow! Awesome score!
BeetleLover
I was just wondering, did you negotiate the price on each car and work your way through or just offer lump sum?
RACECRAFTERS
Probably the best RC haul ever! nJoY!
