I was watching old Knight Rider episodes thismorning on TV when I noticed there was a 1:1 Super Champ being used in the action. I quickly grabbed a few screen captures of it to post up. It's the first time I've seen a 1:1 of the Super Champ. Normally the 1:1 buggys look more like the Rough Rider.
Thanks for looking. Comments always welcome.

Good catch! It's a classic American/German design.

That looks cool, K.I.T.T wouldn't stand a chance against this bad boy...lol
def4x4
Wow.......that are really cool shots, love that Super champ.
TA-Mark
@bad andy: The episode was called 'Inside Out'. I'm liking the new HDTV card I put in my PC, it captures video and pictures quite good.

I wonder where that car is now.. Probably in some attic somewhere... . Brilliant spot
thelegos
That's great to see, looks like The Stig's dad behind the wheel there
Holmberg
it may be in a few seperate boxes in an attic after that last shot! i know it has like 3 shocks on the rear, but that landing is gonna hurt! did he land it in the show?
TA-Mark
@Holmberg: It bounced alittle on the landing but drove away from the shot from what we seen (we never know what happened in the shots that were cut). The scene was the buggy jumping over a jeep, from a high bank, to a downhill ramp on the other side of the road. It was some massive air for a real buggy.

Thnaks for sharing this one, K.I.T.T. Vs a Superchamp!!! Great shots mate

Great find. Thanks for the episode name saves me searching 4 season of KR!
Crash Cramer
Nice find, I am wondering what the red light on top is all about and with just a lack of that horizontal rear shock, spot on for the Super Champ.
Toykid
Awesome reference, thanks for sharing
Fernado Alonso
Now that 's cool ,
It even jumps like the the super champ(last picture)Thanks for sharing
Cheers Alex

Why is he dressed like the Stig? Nice car by the way, a million times better than the black blob with the red leds behind him
mr alan
Great stuff!

I remember that very show. It was the pilot for night rider. It shows the buggy take a jump then mike night does the jump in kit.

White Stig's early TV days
SRB Bloke
Well spotted and quick thinking with the camera, it must have been teenage stig driving..
gr2fltp
I remember the episode, the only good one in the series Did you catch the episode title?
TA-Mark
@SRB Bloke: Capture is easy, just hit the spacebar on the keyboard.
SMOKE-DOG
That's sweet. Thanks for posting.
Badboy
That is awesome!!! I really like that car, It's really the fullsize Super Champ part from the roofwing...
JPickettIII
I was looking at the picture and it looks more like a Rough Rider than a Super Champ. Sorry guys.
TA-Mark
@JPickettIII: I'm curious as to what makes you think that? You should check the realcar reference for the Rough Rider and compare. As Badboy said, it's missing the roof wing, the spotlights and the useless rear monoshock that would never be fitted to a real buggy as it just doesn't work.
Badboy
As the Bel-Rat Bullet (aka Rough Rider) are based on a 1976 Funco buggy I would guess this mite be a 80-85 Funca buggy, as the rollcage looks more up to date compared to the ol' Bel-Ray. It looks it has a Twinset chassie in the 2nd last pics
howitzer71
Thats a great 1:1 of the super champ,I remember the episode. Some great shots ,Top post up mate, cheers
JPickettIII
The reason I think that it looks like a Rough Rider is the wheels/tire and the shock arrangement. I think if the rear wheels were more tilted then I could see it being a Super Champ.
TA-Mark
Wheels don't make the buggy, it's the body styling and roll cage. I use all 3 types of SRB wheels on my Super Champ depending on what terrain I drive on. The wheels between the Sand Scorcher, Rough Rider and Super Champ are all interchangable. Choose the right wheels for the right surface. The SRB rear suspension on any of the Tamiya models is different to the real Funco buggys which have a VW type trailing arm rear suspension, instead of the Tamiya single wishbone. The mono-shock was the first thing I binned from mine and fitted some Sand Scorcher rear dampers with coil overs. If someone out there made a true to scale VW rear suspension that would fit the SRB I certainly would have it fitted to mine.

Thanks for uploading these GREAT pictures! This one must go to the real car reference.
RACECRAFTERS
The Kyosho Scorpion Series chassis has a trailing arm rear suspension similar to that of a V-Dubs, now all you have to do is work out a way to fit it to a SRB chassis. Alternately, you can send your SRB to Monster Garage like they did to this one in your pics
