Valvoline mondeo
There is a bit of a story behind this one. When i was a kid in the late 90s I always looked thru the rc car mags (rc race car and the alike) especially at the Tamiya euro cup articals. I have always liked the euro cup due to all the cars being tamiya and them racing on the same or similar chassis making the racing very close. Now I was looking through one eddition when I noticed some of the concours entries and one of the cars was a replica of the 1995 BTCC car of paul raddisich sponsored by valvoline. I remember wanting this bodyshell really bad and i have always wanted to replicate it myself, but with the bodyshell always being expensive and my painting and deccalling skills being very limited at the time , I just never had the determination to have a go. So last week i was looking at tamiya models on ebay as i normally do when i noticed this bodyshell complete with driver for sale. I knew the seller from past purchases so i contacted him and bought it. I told him the story about me seing a similar body in the mag about 14 years ago. He then told me it was more than likely the very same body as he used in the euro cup and did this body for the concours compition and won. He said he never raced it so it was still as new, he had just stored it ever since. Needless to say I was really happy now owning something that i had admired so many years ago. I now need to get yet another FF01 chassis to put this on and find some similar wheels to the ones used on the 1/1 cars from the 1995 btcc. For the picture it has been mounyed on my current FF01 Mondeo chassis. Thanks for looking and comments welcome as always.

Great story. I too loved this livery and Paul Radisch as a driver. Whenever we went to watch the BTCC and they paraded round to the crowd I would always shout 'RAAAADISCHEY' very bizarely and after about the third meeting he'd clocked me doing it and smiled. After that whenever I did it you'd always see him looking into the crowd to try and spot me in my Ford attire, sometimes he'd spot me and point, other times he didn't, much to the annoyance of my mates and everyone around me......'who's this nutter!' Ha, ha, good old days!

Nice car and body shell. I think Tamiya should have replicated each car in the BTCC of the 1990's. Would make a great collection! Great story too.
