Since adding this to my showroom I have let the clear coat dry then a final rundown with wet & dry a dab of rubbing compound and wax polish have resulted in my best effort yet. Was a bit nerve racking sanding etc, cos you just dont want to go too far otherwise you scratch the decals or start rubbing the paint again.
Have added the exhaust, rear antenna and detailed the VW badge. Just need to paint the driver, door handles and added some window netting. Oh, and the number plates need sorting.

This might be good for the TamiyaUSA contest that's going on right now. They want RC's that are painted with a Tamiya pride sort of fashion. Looks great!

You certainly got a good shine there! Hope my forum tips helped! A little sanding goes a long way! The clear coat over the edges of the different colors looks great, not to mention you custom fender choppin! Cool Scorcher!!!

Thanks for the kind words all. It's certainly turned out to be a labour of love. I have another Scorcher shell sitting around waiting to be done so I'll look forward to painting that another day. It's turning out to be a labour of love at the moment and most enjoyable too.
@bad andy the exhaust was airbrushed.
