hi everybody, i mentioned to one of my workmates that i collect the old tamiya rc cars, he said his brother used to have a racing car years ago but its been in his shed for donkeys years. he said he would bring it into work to see if we could get it going. the next night he brought this in. Wow!! i thought that looks in quite good nick. so we set about trying to get it to work, to cut a long story short, we got it going for 5 mins but then one of the front uprights snapped due to the plastic going brittle over the years so he put it away. then i showed him my profile on tamiyaclub, telling him about the old iconic cars, he seemed interested, then the next night i saw him he said 'that car we were messing with the other night, you can have it if you want! if i take it home it'll only go back in the shed' as you can imagine i was ecstatic with the idea. so here is my newest addition to my collection. ive ordered some new front uprights for it but looking on the net it seems spares for these are like hens teeth so i will continue the restoration after christmas. all ive done so far is clean it up and sort out the electrics but i cant wait to see how it performs.
