Not so good
Well I am very dissapointed in these 1/16 slash VXL trucks, I bought 6 sets of cells each and only 4 of them would charge, the other 2 would not go over 200mah and so do not run. As to the cars we took them out on some muddy lose gravel where they should shine but both of them stripped the spur gears due to stones getting in there, I thought these cars were totaly sealed but when you look closely the main gear cover is wide open at the bottom and stones can get in there, plus the centre drive shafts get stones stuck in there and tear them to bits, even where the rear wheels got mud stuck inside them they wore away the rear uprights to waffer thin in only 2 runs. The front and rear diff casings are not sealed as well, there is about a 1mm gap and you can see the diff case rotating with all the mud in there not good, I thought these were going to be tough but they are very poor quality :-( my old Tao2s are much better, well you live and learn eh ??

SRB Bloke
I'm shocked to hear how bad they performed, my 1/10th Slash is a beast I can't break. Like you said we live and learn.

SRB Bloke, these are no where near the quality of the original 1/10 scale, the whole car is very cheaply made
Fernado Alonso

Any way I hope you will have more luck in the future.

i would try what fernado said. after all these trucks are made to be smashed and crashed, and if its not doing that something is wrong. i think that traxxas should give you the upgrade parts to fix it or give you your money back. i wanted a 1/10 4x4 but i think i will stick with tamiya or maybe try the hobao hyper 10sc, my old hyper 7 has been a good buggy. thanks for posting this

hi biscuit, sorry to hear your tales of woe. this suprizes me, i have the 1/10 2wd and 4wd slashes and there hard as nails. try contacting traxxas, send them photos aswell, youve got nothing to lose, hopefully they'll sort you out. keep us updated

Thanks guys, I have been thinking of running the trucks without the centre drive shaft cover on underneath, this should let the stones fall through but not sure what will happen to the drive shaft, also we have got to try and seal that spur gear some how. I got to say the plastics on the model do not look the qaulity I would of expected from Traxxas, not sure what happened here with this model.
