Picture shows clearly the differnces between the OT-9 fitted to Javelin, Optima and Optima Pro, compared to the OT-57 fitted to Turbo Optima and Salute.
Front OT-9 tower shorter than OT-57 tower and rears are completely different shapes lol.

Good stuff - need to go and check my Turbo now!

Hello, OT-9 was only fitted to the regular Optima. The Javelin and Optima Pro, even though they had the red shocks, came with the OT-57 in order to upgrade them with the gold shocks.

I thought the Javelin was launched before the Turbo Optima which is higher up in parts series, and although i have not looked at my javelin kit recently im sure it has Ot-9 in the box and not Ot-57?.

If you look at Kyosho Javelin Box art it shows BOTH OT-9 and OT-57 fitted?, perhaps thats where the confusion lies.

and with Ot-57

and one of the promo pics of one running shows also Ot-9

So it looks like Kyosho possibly did early models with OT-9 and later ones with OT-57.

Well, it's a possibility. For what I know, my Javelin kit came with OT-57, and the box art shows OT-57 fitted. But maybe some kits came with OT-9 although I've never seen one. Just like Tamiya, maybe Kyosho made several versions of the same kit. For example, I know there two different versions of the Ultima box art, I have to find the link...

Thanks for posting this, the OT-9 here is what I was expecting to see and not what I found on google. It`s interesting to know there is such a thing as an 'early' optima with subtle differences to later releases, just as with the tamiya SRBs.
