Wigged out Thrasher
Featured is my Dirt Thrasher I bought on the Bay in 2003... I built the gear box one year whilst at college, then next summer vacation built another... It was a real treat and something I would really look forward to doing when pushed for time between a full time job and full time studies!
It took me until January 2010 to finish the build, and I painted the Bigwig body I had bought in 1997 a few months ago over the spring of 2010. I bought bits and pieces like the adjustable upper arm set, and also a replacement motor mount etc as and when i got some spare cash. the handset, servos and receiver and speed controller came later in the build as i was nearing the end of my college days, buying little and often made this whole thing affordable!!
Sorry the pictures are very poor quality they came from my mobile phone, hopefully replace these photos with some better ones when i borrow a friends camera!!
I know the hacking up of a bigwig body may well be sacrilage in some purists eyes, but i love the sculpted body lines of the Bigwig, and whilst i would have prefered Black oval blocks, the yellow shoes look kinda funky. any comments welcomed.
cheers guys.

Thank for your comments guys @JWeston, looks okay I think, and thanks for your kind words... my skills are not yet up to the examples in your showroom, but I am looking forward to practicing builds and driving a bit more

As a kid I always loved to have yellow tires for my bmx, but they got worn out on a single run. Hope these last longer as they look great.

@kstar, as a kid i also had yellow tyres on a Raleigh Burner, they lasted for a while but I swapped them for Blue ones when they wore down.... never see blue oval blocks by Tamiya though... [now there is an idea!!!]
