So this is a project that I knew needed to happen as soon as they released the M06. A few others in TC are doing the same. There are a few issues, but the body fits, and looks great!
The HPI '73 Carrera RS is the perfect fit for this chassis. The rear weight bias should make this drive as close to a real porsche as possible. You can feel it when lifting the model. This is going to be a runner for sure, so I tried not to get to crazy with body details. Color is Corsa Grey, and a Scollins interior driver, roll bar, front mesh, custom exhaust can, custom sparco race seats. I would have cut the body posts down 1 more hole, but I will lift the body up one notch for running. Cheers! Skottoman

Very nice, wheels fit the arches really well. Sounds like this will be a fun 'but' serious runner..

Sweet Porsche ... Love the discreet colour ... reinforces the sophistication of the body ...

axemandavva

Jorisschulte
Coolest Porsche on TC. period.
Instantly want one.
So the body is HPI. What wheels are those?
JWeston
the colour is lovely and I think is for the tamiya fiat? im definitely going to use it on something. gorgeous car!
Skottoman
Thanks for the comments! The wheels are HPI 'Fuchs'. Just like the Porsche versions. The wheel package even has a 'licensed by Porsche' on it. Yes, the Corsa grey was on the boxart Fiat. Cheers!

Stunning. The rims are something else

CARRERA
Now that is what you call a Porsche. Superb model of a classic 911, well done mate.

Oh that's a real beauty, excellent job, especially the Fuchs, the join for the ducktail is really clean too. I'm shooting for the street version also, either lime green metallic or orange metallic, and probably stupid brushless :O
GEMINIJETS
You've already put enough details on this beauty! Great work! Btw, I didn't know HPI had such a body!
pagedm_f350
This is soo awesome, you are right, it had to be done, just like I have to build one now

This is absolutely fantastic work, action shots please!!!!
Tamiya King
Very nice fit with the HPI body there. I really want one of the new M06's.

What a wonderful Porsche.
As I accepted the fact that the HPI Stratos body won't fit an M-03 maybe the Porsche body does. What is your guess: will the HPI Porsche body fit a M-03 (SW? On your M-06 it is a perfect fit.
Kokuzu
Fantastic job on the Porsche with cool Fuchs wheels. Ancient color... Details which make it so real. Keep it up!
Jorisschulte
I am drawn to these pics again and again since yesterday. I really would like to do the same project.
And I guess a lot of us do.
Could you let us in on the 'few issues' that you encountered and your solutions? Maybe as a short list here or as a tutorial. Please

I love it, it looks magnificent! I must do one of these when summer comes to Norway.

I'm guessing we'll be seeing a few more M06-HPI RSR's on here. @NoSlack - No, I'm pretty sure the low hood would not allow you to put this on an M03. List of things to look out for on this build - Cost of this combo is around $300, compared to $200 for the CR kit. But with the CR kit, you don't get the rear hanging motor, and realistic weight. - HPI wheel hex is a little larger than the Tamiya hub hex. - You must use the provided wheel nuts by HPI. - You must use HPI MX60 tires on the Fuchs wheels. - Front hood just barely clears shock towers. - Wheels need spacers/wider hex to widen out to fill wheel wells. Driving impressions - This combo is wonderful. You can flick it into a corner and feel/see the weight move the rear around. The HPI tires are nice and sticky. I thought I'd have an oversteer problem due to having same compound front and rear. But no! The weight over the rear provides good grip, and makes this model move realistically.
