After Tamiya re-released the S800 and seeing some pictures of the Honda S800 which drove the Nurburgring 500kms race in 1967, I thought it would be really cool to build a 1/10 scale version of it. The car was driven by Tetsu Ikuzawa and won his class (1000 cc and under) that year .
As always I tried to give the car some extra details like an exhaust, rear view mirrors (inside and outside) and a cockpit with a styrene rollcage and dashboard. It’s a shame I didn’t had decals left to put the right number on the car, but for me that isn’t a big deal. I’m happy with the looks right now, it’s just a great little car! After all the re-releases I wish Tamiya would release some new historic race and rally cars on the m-chassis, maybe they can make some great new bodysets for the new M-06, that would be awesome!

That looks superb!!!! I was totally thinking of NOT getting one of these bodies, but now that I've seen your brilliant version, I'm thinking about it again! Love the extra details, and the interior rear view mirror is really well done!

Absolutley brilliant work, looks fantastic! Am currently restoring a very tatty original S800, this is inspiring. If mine turns out half as good as yours I'll be very happy. This is going into my faves!

Oops sorry, forgot to mention I love the authentic details like mirrors, exhaust etc. Have made exhausts for some of my other cars and think I'll have to put one on my S800. I really do love this!!!

Great looking car indeed! What kind of line tape do you use? What size? I use 0.5mm black line tapes for lines on bodies.

Very nice indeed! Looks supurb!
Soonsie
Thanks for all your sweet words guys! The panel lines where done with 0,4mm micron line tape from Kyosho.
@Skottoman: I know that feeling, maybe that's why I do still have plenty of projects left

Amazing work! Love the white... prefer it to the box art yellow that I did mine now... Doh! Quick question - where is the driver from? He looks around GT01 scale? Cheers! Tim
Soonsie
Thanks Tim! The driver (and dashboard) is from a buggy champ with the plate around the driver cut away.
