Just picked this up off the bay, Absolutely dont need it, and had other priorities to deal with (like some Big Bear Parts :( ) Not sure how popular these are, or their following, but decided it was a bit of a bargain and had a crack anyway. Will update pics when I get it and start working on it.

Not bad condition fully rtr looks pretty sound

This is a very crappy model. But It was my first and it brings back so much memories every time I see it. The smell of burnt speed controller was common. I wouldn't mind having one again though.

Thanks man, bit of an ugly duckling, but I love 'K' cars, and this will sit alongside my optima nicely

I don't think they're ugly, I have a Cosmo (I think) The Icarus might have taken the least popular title on this series...

'Absolutely don't need it, and had other priorities' - LOL!. How many times have we all uttered that phrase, or something just like it ... but ended up with the car anyhow. Nice find and a bit of an oddity so it will be a nice addition.

I started with a model similar that and I ended to buy Tamiya`s cars and join this club so I should say thanks to the `ugly duckling`

Cool car. could do with a new body. I have a new built one. Parts are still pretty cheap and widely available. You should be able to get a new shell snd stickers if you are going to do it up

Cheers guys, wasn't trying to offend anyone with the ugly comment , in fact I can't wait to restore it, good news about parts and shell/decals. Should be sweet

I have to agree, it's not ugly. Just not the greatest model. I can still remember the smell of the plastic and the paint I used to paint mine. I think the problem used to be the gears and the dog bones. I actually got 3 of this 2 for spares. But I wore out all the dog bones and all the gears got trashed. But it might have been the pink motor I put in it.

Anyway I think you will have a great time with it.

You can get a Repro Body for £15+ or you can get an original for £18
Original decals also available.
Agree with others on here, gears and drive shafts are the weak points (and hardest to replace), wheels and other plastic parts are cheap enough.
Cheers

I tell you what that car you have there is in very good condition considering the state that some of the other Pegasus's that I bhought off ebay over the years, yours is complete, still got its original speedo, unmodified ball joints on front uprights, and still has pimples on the rear tires, that body don't look too bad, just needs a bit of touch up paint to be reet

Too be honest I haven't really looked at it closely since it arrived, other things on the go ATM like my Optima resto. Maybe a paint strip and respray might do the job. One thing I really like is the green LeMans 480 motor that is fitted
