Kyosho / Graupner Datsun 240Z Safari
Sorry guys, went into the wrong church today and grabbed myself a bargain with this impressive Datsun 240Z. It brought me back to being 12 yrs again, as this box was positioned next to the Tamiya 1:12 Datsun I got from my father at that time. ''This massive nitro Datsun really seemed from outer space'', is all I could remember... I am not sure which brand this is but may I assume this is a Kyosho or a Graupner? I think this model must be early 80's and still loooks really good. The rear tyres have hardly any wear and still feel soft. Front tyres are less soft, but that seems to be the quality they were sold in because the front tyres sure are original ones.
I consider the body to be in a very good state concerning its age, despite the sqaure being cut in the windshield to cool the engine a little extra. Decals however are fixed properly and the trimming has been done pretty secure by the previous owner.
Can anyone tell me something about the engine? I can see it's an O.S. Max but I still have to google this, the seller told me that these engines are normally used for airplanes and will therefore need special fuel. I will definately try to run (or fly???) this at one stage, but it may take me some time as I am only a rookie in electro cars and still have to get more experienced in this subject. Must be a tough job getting this safari tiger running again in the Dutch desserts around our tents...

Hi F1, the previous owner took all pieces apart and told me he had the engine running. It seems to have enough compression and everything turns smoothly. Will try to start it this spring, no worries mate haha
