Hi Fellas,

another resto finished. This was an rather easy job, as the truck came to me in superb condition.

It got a good clean and was freed of the nasty old electronics. The only thing that stayed was the Reedy modified motor. This model was designed to take saddle pack batteries, but most were modified/butchered to take stick packs. So was this one.
I mounted new wheels and tyres which I got in another deal. Everything was changed back to stock setup. Many thanks to member The Incredible Serious for a copy of the original manual. Only Hop Ups are full ball bearings and a rear sway bar from my Ultima parts bin.
The body is like new, although brush painted. Added panel lines, made some new number plates for the sides and did the obligatory tyre lettering as finishing touches.
I love the way how it sits, with the rear a tad lower than the front. In my eyes this is the best buggy to truck conversion from that time.
Hope you guys like it, too! :-)

Looks really great: perfect overall impression. It looks so much better than the 2WD Race Trucks nowadays. The body is simply way more scale.

Dante77 This is a very cool looking Truck!! A Top class Truck i love it !!
what will you do with it ?? looks to good to be a runner but i would give it one run down the beach and take some photos of it and then clean it up and put it back on the shelf into its life as a shelf Queen!!
Cheers MAD-BEE.

I love the stance of this car - really cool! Although the shell lacks a little detail compared to say a King Cab, I might still prefer this in terms of looks

Thanks guys! I must say I'm very tempted to give her a spin! But I have a second one, might build it as a runner. Just have a look at this video (towards the end, the first one is the cheaper Raider): [Click here]

I used to race an ultima outlaw truck that looked very similar but I assume is a later model, it was a really good machine and very reliable. This one looks great, reminds me of the king cab or hilux mr but with better mechanics. Great work
