WELL,HERE WE HAVE A LONG OVERDUE UPDATE ON THE 'GASSER'.

A FEW YEARS AGO I DID SOME MODS TO THE REAR SUSPENSION AND BODY PROTECTION.ALSO TRIED OUT SOME NEW HPI WHEELS AND TYRES.

Pic 1 SHOWS AN OVERALL VIEW WITH THE NEW WHEELS & TYRES.

Pic 2 SHOWS THE NEW FRONT BODY PROTECTION PAN THAT WILL INCLUDE THE EXISTING BRASS STRIP AS SHOWN IN Pic3.

Pic4 IS THE NEW REAR BODY PAN THAT WILL INCLUDE AN EXTERNAL PUSH BAR AS USED ON DRAG CARS OF ALL TYPES FROM THIS ERA.

Pic5 SHOWS THE DUAL SHOX THAT ARE REQUIRED BECAUSE OF ALL THE WEIGHT THAT THE SUSPENSION IS CARRYING.I FOUND THAT WHEN GOING OVER A BUMP THE REAR SUSPENSION WOULD BOTTOM OUT AND NOT RECOVER TO THE RIDE HEIGHT!!YER I KNOW;THERE SHOULDN'T BE ANY BUMPS ON A DRAG STRIP!!!

FINAL Pic IS THE CHASSIS WITH NEW TYRE/WHEEL COMBO.

FOR FULL DETAILS GO TO THE PREVIOUS SHOWROOM ENTRY:HOPE YOU LIKE THE UPGRADES,AND MAYBE I'LL GET SOME MORE DONE IN A COUPLE OF YEARS!!!!!!!!

Hi Butcher-Bird,thanks for the positve. The rear tyres are
called 'Fototire'and I got them from Ebay.
As I recall they were a promo item issued by NASCAR I think. They used the tyre as a frame for a photo of a famous NASCAR driver.

Hi Orangemece, thanks for the positive. The body is a std issue PARMA polycarbonate(LEXAN). I got the body and the wheels/tyres from Ebay in the USA.These 5 spoke wheels are an all time classic hotrod/dragster favourite. You could also try Tower Hobbies in the USA.Cheers.

I love the Gasser look. You should paint it in a early 70s scheme, lots of different metallic colors. Great work so far!

I can't seem to find that earlier showroom post, could you link it at the bottom of this using the edit feature and the 'related post' insert tool on TC??? Thanks, looks very cool and there are Gasser Hot Wheels, perhaps you have seen them?
